Tap, Sacrifice Tainted Sigil: You gain life equal to the total life lost by all players this turn. (Damage causes loss of life.)
Tainted Sigil Discussion

austintayshus Originally I chose to cut out Aetherflux Reservoir due to the 50 life payment cost, but now that I remembered Children of Korlis and Tainted Sigil , I'll probably put it back in. As for the Soul Sisters. I know they'll give me a lot of life in the long run, but those small drops of life won't help me get Licia out quicky. Martyr of Sands , Chaplain's Blessing and other such cards will give me bursts of life to help me get Licia out much quicker (as early as turn 3).
Also, thank you for being my first commenter!

Hi there, It looks like you have a pretty heavy creature count. Have you thought of something like Bitterblossom ? the one life is even more negligible in a lifegain deck and its repeatable fodder for Ayli's ability. Also harder for someone to remove and can get it out early.
A personal favorite of mine is Tainted Sigil . It includes ALL life lost by ALL players so can be an immediate game winner; for example, Aetherflux Reservoir for 50 (they LOSE 50 even if they only have 40 they go to -10) and then you sac the sigil to gain 100 back! then enough to immediately burn the table.
Other than that, you're running the best two colors to tutor up those enchantments with things like Enlightened Tutor and Demonic Tutor . Id say those are definitely worth a slot over some of the creatures.

Oh, now I understand why you have some expansive cards like Three Visits ! You play online! Of all the players that I asked if I could search in my sideboard with Mastermind's Acquisition , all said «yes», but I never actually tutored outside a deck's library. I asked to see what kind of players they were and it was also to do some politics (to make them wonder what I'd tutor and «get in their head») lol. I asked a judge for the «layers» and was told those rules are in the section 613 of the comprehensive rules. I went only for the part intriguing us. From what I understood, you do have to check the order of the cards when their continuous effects contradict each other. They call that the «timestamp order», but if 2 layers enter at the same time, «dependancy» is checked. Usually the last effect «wins».
You could add some wheel effects in your game to make it harder for your opponents to find responses once you have set a winning combo. Many are in the chaos list I posted, like Teferi's Puzzle Box .
Since a couple of your cards change life, I would have suggested to add Platinum Emperion , but you wrote that you are avoiding pillowforting in this deck. It could be something to tutor with Living Wish , Death Wish (and regain the life lost with Tainted Sigil or Children of Korlis ) or Mastermind's Acquisition in your sideboard if you're in deep shit? haha

Hi friend. I run a version of this deck with Selenia, Dark Angel and have really considered Licia for red.
There is an upcoming combo in this wheelhouse you may be interested in. Start with a Bolas's Citadel in play. Then Cast Doomsday . The cards you will pick (hopefully there are still in you deck) are Aetherflux Reservoir , Children of Korlis , Tainted Sigil , a land, and Beacon of Immortality .
Depending on your life total after halving it you may want more 1 drops than anything. But the plan is to make it so Beacon of Immortality is the only card in your library and you keep casting it off the top. You gain infinite life. Aetherflux Reservoir , Sanguine Bond , or Vizkopa Guildmage finish off your opponents.
I know this is a lot of cards you are not currently running. Just wanted you to have all the tools you might need.

Though you seem to have got my meaning already, I'll put this here for clarity:
Even though you "have" 20 life to start, you can lose more than you have. If you bid, say, 120 life and win, you will lose 120 life, going to -100. Sacrificing Children of Korlis will cause you to gain 120 life (since that's how much you lost this turn, barring other effects), going back to 20.
Sacrificing two Children of Korlis would work. Tainted Sigil would have to be combined with something else to get more than 120 (other players would have to lose life for you to go above that amount).
Sanguine Bond sounds like ridiculous fun, and is perfect for the "I lose 5000 life but don't lose because of this card here. Oh, by the way, you're all dead."

@emask Just to add a final point of clarification, because I feel the subject isn't fully cleared. So to recap - you cast Angel's Grace or Phyrexian Unlife and now can't lose the game. Then as you are at 40 life cast Pain's Reward and bid a million life, which resolves and your life goes to minus 999 960 life. Saccing Children of Korlis now will gain you million life and set you back to 40 life, which was your life total before the bid. So the only way to achieve the million life dream is to add additional effect into this equation which is what I originally suggested.
Lets come back to the example - your life total is minus 999 960 life and you cast Oketra's Last Mercy or Resolute Archangel so set your life to back 40 which also gains you a million life, which is important if Sanguine Bond is present. And now finally you sacrifice Children of Korlis , which makes you gain a million more life and make your life total 1 000 040.
P.S. For extra umph activating Tainted Sigil , after you have gained a million life with Children of Korlis and killed someone with Sanguine Bond will net you 2 million life and then make someone lose 2 million life as well. Some might call it overkill, I call it style points ;)

Kogarashi Click! Totally just worked in my mind. The part you said about life going back up from zero is where I was stuck. You're totally right, it would go up from whatever negative it was at, then into the positives.

You can't do anything without mana. I would take out cards for 3 more lands and 2 more ramp. Unless you already own it i would take out the most expensive cards because this is a high dollar deck and it really doesn't need to be.
If you want to yell stuff at the table I will GIVE you a cheap card today at Heroes. Do a Yugi-oh impression, stand up and say "You've activated my TRAP CARD". Needlebite Trap . 7 CMC but you can cast it for 1.
If you can tutor for anything you almost can't find a better combo than Tree of Perdition , graveyard recursion and your boss saccing the tree to gain life equal to whatever your target used to have. Diabolic Tutor should be here just because this deck has like 5 combo pieces it could look for.
