The Deck

This is my Maelstrom Wanderer deck focus around its synergy with Food Chain as well as the haste effects it provides to creatures. Since Ikoria, there's some new exciting toys that fit really well with Maelstrom and I've decided to merge my Xenagos and Animar deck into this monstrosity. The deck is constructed to be played in a 75% power level meta and operates on either assembling the FC combo or a lethal boardstate to win.

Win Conditions

• The deck's primary win condition is Food Chain + Misthollow Griffin/Eternal Scourge/Squee, the Immortal to do an infinite cascade into either infinite turns with Nexus of Fate or infinite damage with Stalking Vengeance.

• Another backup infinite mana combo in the deck that is easily assembled with Tooth and Nail is Temur Sabertooth + Dockside Extortionist which ends up having the same infinite cascade effect as the Food Chain combo. Another option to win from this combo line is to bounce and cast Inferno Titan with Temur Sabertooth infinite times to kill the table.

• The secondary win condition is lethal combat damage with damage multipliers like Xenagos, God of Revels and/or Pathbreaker Ibex. Casting or cascading into Nexus of Fate usually spells doom for my opponents.
