-Izoni does so many things (graveyard payoff via token creation while being a not a bad sac outlet) that I build my deck to support her by focusing on having the graveyard filled with creatures to generate tons of tokens for Izoni. How do I win?

  1. Aristocrats
  2. Overwhelming Stampede
  3. Mortal Combat
  4. Infinite token via 3 card combo with Izoni: Ashnod's Altar + Nim Deathmantle
The best ramp in the deck, the ones that you would want in your opening hand is Hermit Druid. The card can fill your graveyard while also drawing you a basic land card on either your opponents turn or your own. A weaker card similar to this is Satyr Wayfinder though it can only do when it enters the battlefield. Currently testing Life of the Loam since it's basically the same as Hermit Druid but as sorcery and can target non basic lands. The rest are creatures that either bring lands when entered or when they die/sacrifice (Maybe add in Solemn Simulacrum ??). Curious to see if I should use signets or similar artifacts (yeah i don't run sol ring). Lastly, Path of Discovery is an enchantment that ramps/adds counters/mill when a creature enters the battlefield, so it's an auto include.

  • Dawntreader elk
  • Satyr Wayfinder
  • Sakura tribe elder
  • Fertilid-Replaced with Primal Growth
  • Farhaven Elf
  • Diligent Farmhand-Kodama's reach
  • Wood Elves
  • Yavimaya ranger
  • Path of Discovery
  • Life from the Loam

The card draw is pretty small and has a variety of cards: cheap cantrips, aristocratic stuff and a reward for creature spells via Beast Whisper. I could definitely try to add in spells like Read the Bones or other for card draw. Skull Clamp and Greater good can draw us cards as well.

  • Funeral rites

  • Dusk Legion Zealot
  • Elvish Visonary
  • Midnight reaper
  • Grim Haruspex,
  • Beast Whisperer
  • Corpse Augur
  • Krav, the Unredeemed
  • Skullclamp
  • Greater Good

  • Because this deck relies on mill, there is a good chance a card you need is thrown in the graveyard. Treasured Find and Nyx Weaver are the best for targeting any card with Nyx Weaver helping with the self mill and can used in response to graveyard hate. Eternal Witness works great as well by targeting any card in our graveyard. Next up is Acolyte for almost anything, followed up by Find for only getting two creatures. Gruesome is the same, however it can bring back three. Journey to Eternity/Atzal, Cave of Eternity work great as an enchantment and a land that bring back a creature card to the battlefield at instant speed for six mana. Whisper can get one creature, requires at least two other creatures to be sacrificed, and has to survive long enough to come back at your turn. Seems to be fair trade for instant speed. Rift Sweeper works for an emergency back up after graveyard hate, but it can easily be cut if needed. Perpetual time piece is also great in this.

  • Find/Finality,

  • Whisper, blood litrugist-Taken out to reach 100,
  • Treasured find,
  • Gruesome menagerie
  • Eternal witness
  • Acolyte of Affliction
  • Nyx Weaver
  • Rift Sweeper
  • Golgari Thug

  • This deck primarily runs tutors that are creatures. I'll be honest: they ain't great. These tutors can only tutor for cards with converted mana cost of four. Mausoleum Secrets works great in the deck and can be added but only for black cards. I am currently playtesting some budget tutors like Diabolic Tutor and Mastermind Acquisition, though they can easily be swamped out for more better (expensive) tutors. Curious to try out green tutor cards also, such as Chord of Calling and Eldritch Evolution.

  • Fleshwrither-replaced with Diabolic tutor

  • Dimir House guard-Mastermind Acquisition
  • Self mill is the primary way we can fuel Izoni and meet some of our win cons. Dredge cards are the best, especially Life from the Loam as it can grab us land to play Izoni. Shambeling Shell, Golgari Thug, and Stinkweed Imp are fine with Shambeling Shell being sacrificed at instant speed before your turn to dredge. Golgari Thug can work as a graveyard play card for creatures, while Stinkweed Imp dredges the most for a flyer with almost but not quite deathtouch.

Similarly, World Shaper is great at milling and arguably even better since it can grab us all our lands back we can sacrifice it to any of our sac outlets. I've talked about Hermit Druid and Satyr Wayfinder, with Hermit Druid being a great early drop. Glowspore Shaman works like Satyr Wayfinder and actually target any land in our graveyard, but only places it on top of our library. We'll definitely need to keep that in mind with cards like Nyx Weaver and Splinterfreight who do this automatically on our upkeep, with Splinterfreight getting stronger from each creature card in the graveyard.
    - Glowspore Shaman - World Shaper - Underrealm Lich - Stichter's supplier - Shambling shell - Returned Reveler, - Glowspore Shaman, - Nyx Weaver - Splinterfreight - Hermit Druid - Life from the Loam - Golgari Thug - Stinkweed Imp

Some of the best payoff from our creatures dying are tokens that can be used for Mana. Heck, with Pitiless Plunder we get Treasure tokens that be spent for any color compared to our creature tokens that are usually providing colorless mana. Ogre slumlord doesn't produce any mana producing tokens, but can generate tokens from our end or from our opponents which makes it a nice way to have some tokens in the event of a board wipe. So long as we have Ogre Slumlord, these rats have deathtouch. Gutter Grime make ooze tokens that constantly get stronger when our creatures die while also being great protection from a wrath. Golgari germination is another enchantment that makes tokens when our creatures die, though they aren't going to be any stronger without an anthem.

    • Pawn of Ulamog
    • Sifter of Skulls
    • Pitiless Plunderer
    • Ogre Slumlord
    • Gutter grime,
    • Golgari Germination

Our creatures are generally weak so any anthem effects are appreciated. Path is great not only for mill and land draw, but giving counters to our many insect tokens that come in from Izoni helps if we need to chump block some larger creatures. Beastmaster Accession is great and can be trigged slowly or at once if we swing in with seven creatures. Creakwood Liege is creature anthem that also generates a 3/3 token on our upkeep.

  • Path of Discover

  • Beastmaster Accesion
  • Creakwood Liege
  • If we want to make some instant tokens to be sacrificed or used, Sengir autocrat is great as long as we don't accidentally sacrifice the autocrat first. Endrek Sahr can make us multiple thrull tokens so long we keep them under 7. Milotic slime works great as a creature to be sacrificed since it makes multiple smaller tokens that can be used even after they die. Emrakuel's Evangel works well with our Overwhelming Stampede plan since we sacrifice all our small tokens to make 3/2 horrors that become 6/5 with trample from Stampede. Awakening zone is slower, but can guarantee us an Eldrazi spawn each upkeep. Mycloth does this but multiple saporlings via the counters when it comes in. Tendershoot Dryad cost a little more to generate tokens on every upkeep for some strong saporlings.

    • Emrakuel's Evangel,
    • Endrek Sahr,
    • milotic slime,
    • sengir autocrat,
    • Awakening zone
    • Tendershoot Dryad
While some of the best removal aren't creatures and are at risk for being lost in our graveyard, we can rely on some cheap creatures to help out. Shriekmaw will almost be cast for it's evoke cost while Caustic Caterpillar can be sacrificed at instant speed to take out almost anything. Reclamation Sage can target our opponents artifacts and enchantments. Noxious Gearhulk, Ravenous Chupacabra, and Cavalier of Knight are great as well, with Cavalier being able to bring a creature back when it dies. For board wipes, Finality and Living Death work great in taking out a token deck, especially for indestructible creatures. Pernicious dead works great as a bomb for multiple permanents except for planes walkers, though be aware of possibly taking out your own permanents as well. Gaze of Granite can work better as board wipe and a great mana sink if needed.

-Remvoal (single) - Shriekmaw - Noxious Gearhulk - Ravenous Chupacabra - Reclamation Sage - Caustic Caterpillar - Assassin's Trophy - Casualties of War - Status//Statue

    • Removal (Mass removal)
    • Ritual of Soot
    • Find/ Finality
    • Gaze of Granite
    • Living Death
    • Pernicious Deed
Testing out 35 lands with nothing too expensive or wild. Memorial to Folly can work with Bojuka bog can be taken out if needed.
  • Lands: 27 lands with 8 entering tapped,

  • Mortal Combat is a simple win card so long as we have the creatures in the graveyard and it can survive long enough to reach us. It can also be used as bait for removal if needed. Kessig Cage breakers is basically an aggro Izoni that swing hard (usually once) with multiple tokens. If we have Beastmaster Ascension out or any similar anthems, Kessig can take out a player if they don't have enough blockers. Overwhelming stampede is our most direct anthem spell that gives everything a temporary boost and trample, thought the wolves from Kessig won't be able to take advantage of this since they'll come after the spell resolves.

  • Mortal Combat

  • Kessig cage breakers,
  • Overwhelming stampede

  • The aristocratic win condition is nice and simple: kill creatures and make your opponents pay. Having multiple of them out on field can guarantee major life lost as long as we have the creatures and sacrifice outlets for it. Dictate is great and while it isn't a creature like Butcher of Malakir, can be flashed in and is harder to remove.

  • Blood Artist

  • Poison-Tip Artist
  • Falkenrath Noble
  • Zulaport Cutthroat
  • Dictate of Erebos
  • Butcher of Malakir

  • We have a Golgari Charm to regenerate all our creatures in the face of a wipe. If we need to protect Izoni, Voyager staff and Temur Sabertooth helps us by bouncing her off the field and either being recast at a later time or generating more tokens when it enters again. Already discussed Rift Sweeper as a way to bring an exiled card.

  • Golgari Charm

  • Temur Sabertooth
  • Voyager Staff
  • All right, so we have creatures and our rewards for them dying but how do we kill them? Yahenni works great as a free sac outlet but also as an answer to a board wipe by getting stronger when our opponents creatures die. Viscera Seer and Woe strider great as free sac outlets that let us scry our library. Altar of Dementia works great in dumping more of our creatures in the graveyard in preperation for Izoni. Same with Greater good and for card draw. The best sac outlet is Ashnod's altar along with Phrexian Altar for giving us free mana. Carion Feeder can work well a free sacrifice outlet that gets stronger.

    • Yahenni, Undying Partisan
    • Greater Good
    • Woe Strider
    • Viscera Seer
    • Altar of Dementia
    • Phrexian Altar
    • Ashnod's altar
    • Carrion Feeder
