Maybeboard

An updated version of my previous deck, Karador's Sacrifices (EDH). I built the first copy of this deck when Siege Rhino came out, but the stars of the deck proved to be Kami of False Hope and Spore Frog . That version of the deck had a heavy (somewhat forced) spirit subtheme. I moved away from that, instead adding in a few more utility spells and abilities that take advantage of your graveyard.

The basic function of the deck revolves around effects that reward you for sacrificing creatures and effects that return creatures from your graveyard. Many of the creatures also have abilities when they enter or leave the battlefield (like the above mentioned Siege Rhino ). This allows you to cycle creatures on and off the board repeatedly (sometimes in the same turn) to maximize the effect of both the creatures and the other synergies.

There are a variety of cheap to free, repeatable sacrifice outlets that further your cause: Ashnod's Altar , Carnage Altar , Attrition , Evolutionary Leap , and Teysa, Orzhov Scion .

You have a simple, oppressive way to control the board with Butcher of Malakir , Dictate of Erebos , and Grave Pact , which all force your opponents to sacrifice creatures whenever yours die.

You can create a powerful draw engine, digging for the tools you need with cards like Grim Haruspex , Harvester of Souls , and Reaper of the Wilds .

There are several creatures that act as removal, like Acidic Slime , Ashen Rider , and Reclamation Sage , and Aura Shards adds this feature for every creature.

Even with the suite of graveyard recovery in this deck, it does require some momentum to get started. Cards like Kirtar's Wrath , Necromantic Selection , Spider Spawning , and Worm Harvest can quickly return your control of the board and get things started again.
