N̶O̶W̶ ̶W̶I̶T̶H̶ ̶T̶1̶ ̶I̶N̶F̶I̶N̶I̶T̶E̶ ̶C̶O̶M̶B̶O̶ (This has been removed due to Lotus Petal being a pretty much dead card except in this very exact openinghand which will never happen anyway. Turn 2 is still possible though.)

I own this deck in Paper as listed and it has become what it is today after several years' work. If you enjoy this deck please give it a +1.

The name was inspired by this glorious alter: Liliana of the Veil (The alter won't display at the moment, but Ornithopters have been dispatched to fix this.)

Cabal The Rapist confirmed this summer!!! Heck, if he was legendary I would play him as commander for obvious reasons. Anyway, he goes into the deck. Also, Liliana's Triumph is considered.

What do? - general procedure

Get Lili   out ASAP and get her to flip. In best case on the same or following turn (3) as she enters the battlefield.

(If you didn't know, hover slightly right to Lili   to see her back)

Therefore you want one of these dudes for the die-trigger in your opening hand:

Soldevi Adnate , Burnished Hart , Viscera Seer ,

Fleshbag Marauder , Merciless Executioner , Plaguecrafter ,

Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed , Sidisi, Undead Vizier

This works as well with a few other creatures and / or cards that require you to

sacrifice a creature. E.g. Contamination , Diabolic Intent , Phyrexian Tower , Gate to Phyrexia

From there you basically have two options depending on your hand:

1. Discard Fatties with +1 like Razaketh, the Foulblooded , Sheoldred, Whispering One , Void Winnower and reanimate via Reanimate , Victimize , Chainer, Dementia Master etc. or occasionally Lili herself; the latter obviously taking more time and delaying her -8 so this is not recommended in general.

2. +1 to discard cheap creatures and -X them the next turn for their effects. E.g. Soldevi Adnate , Priest of Gix , Graveborn Muse , Plaguecrafter , Solemn Simulacrum .

Note that both options keep your opponents discarding during the process.

The rest is Self explanatory: Answer threats, tutor win-cons, mainly etc.

Cards for cockblock (you really want one of those to protect your plays): Contamination , Infernal Darkness , Null Brooch , Kozilek, the Great Distortion , an early Smokestack also helps

Note: Only play Contamination or Infernal Darkness if you have a boardpresence or everyone will start beating your face. This happened yesterday.

Cards that win quick: Buried Alive + Victimize (fetching Bloodghast + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion ), Hatred

These are examples which of course work with less specific cards one or two turns later,

but these are the fastest possible ways i have figured out so far.

T2 Win

get Bloodghast + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion

T2: Ancient Tomb , Victimize

T2 Lockdown #1

T1: Swamp , Dark Ritual , Bitterblossom

T2: Ancient Tomb OR Phyrexian Tower OR Swamp + Sol Ring , Contamination

...obviously does not work vs. ...terrible!

T2 Lockdown #2

T1: Swamp , Dark Ritual , Sol Ring , Smokestack

T2: add a soot counter (keep it at one for now), Bitterblossom

T2 Fattie

T1: Swamp , Dark Ritual , Lili  

T2: Swamp , Viscera Seer , flip Lili   and discard dis boi / dis sexy / dat boi , Reanimate

... bad boi is fine, too (also eats the Zombietoken)

Alternatively, if you're on the draw you can just miss landdrop, pass turn, discard one of those and Reanimate the next Turn.

Note that Lili has lifelink (Yummy!) so you can do it again two turns later by recovering Hatred via Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed or Ill-Gotten Gains . Obviously works only if there are no blockers, so this is rather effective in two-player games, also you don't want the unlucky guy to sit there and watch for half an hour anyway (...unless you do). So i usually exchange Hatred with sideboard in multiplayer.

After mentioning these, possibilities from turn 3 on are nearly endless - frankly lets head to the next panel where synergies are explained in the first place.
