"Ready to ascend to Godhood??"

The deck is, what I would call a: Skybind-Combo-Control-Deck. It is, mostly, build around ETB(Enter The Battlefield) triggers. Since Skybind combos well with the abillity of our general: Heliod, God of the Sun. But the deck can also win the good ol' fashioned way: THROUGH BEATS!!

**Skybind does alot of work in the deck. **

1. It can help us gain more value out of our cards with ETB triggers.

2. Save our nonenchantment permanents from being destroyed or exiled.

3. It can help us get rid of cards on the battlefield that prevents us form winning through beats.

And 4. We can help/save our opponents, if needed. (This is EDH after all.... POLITICS!!)

In total, we run 14 cards* that Skybind can target.

Nr. 13 and !4 are a bit odd to have on the list. Since Stonecloaker can bounce itself back to our hand, and Reveillark's abillity only triggers when it leaves the battlefield. But both cards work very well with Skybind.

*(There are more then 14 cards in the deck that can be targeted. But the 14 cards mentioned above are what we concider to be "the best targets")

The Control, The Combos and FTW!

Skybind, as mentioned way up above, combos with Heliod, God of the Sun's abillity to make enchantment creature tokens. We have build the deck around this interaction. And we seek to abuse it in as many ways as possible!!

Getting There..... With Control...

Since we dont run any kind of mana rocks in the deck, not even Sol Ring. The deck is a bit on the slow side. Therefore it will take us some time before we can get to combo-off with Skybind. To help us stay alive, so that we dont get run over by faster decks, we run cards like:

Wrath of God, Day of Judgment, Fumigate, Austere Command, False Prophet, Blind Obedience, Authority of the Consuls, Martyr's Cause, Righteous Aura, Worship, Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshares.

+ the before mentioned cards of: Stonehorn Dignitary, Eternity Vessel, Resolute Archangel and Sunblast Angel.

Other cards that helps us "ascend to Godhood", would be: Skullclamp, Scroll Rack, and Mind's Eye. We are in mono-white, so we need all the card-draw we can get!

Co-Co-Co-Co-Combos!!

Here is a small list of combos that the deck can do.

1. Skybind + Heliod, God of the Sun + ** Any of the 14 "best skybind targets" = VALUE!!**

2. Skybind + Heliod, God of the Sun + ** Panharmonicon + ** Any of the 14 "best skybind targets" = EVEN MORE VALUE!!

3. Angelic Renewal + ** Sun Titan = A almost immortal Sun Titan.**

4. Reveillark + ** Karmic Guide + ** Mirror Entity or Martyr's Cause = Never take dmg again + Return all creatures from your graveyard to the battelfield.

5. False Prophet + ** Gift of Immortality + ** Martyr's Cause = Eww....Just eww...

6. Skybind + Heliod, God of the Sun + ** Sunblast Angel + ** Blind Obedience or Authority of the Consuls = Goodbye my opponents creatures, not as dirty as the one above but still...

7. Fiend Hunter or Leonin Relic-Warder + Martyr's Cause = Permanently exile target artifact/enchantment or creature.

8. Faith Healer + Oblivion Ring = Permanently exile any nonland permanent.

9. Skybind + Heliod, God of the Sun + ** Plains + ** Emeria Shepherd = Return any and all nonland permanents from your graveyard to the battlefield!

10. Skybind + Heliod, God of the Sun + ** Serra's SanctumGC = A lot of Cleric Tokens and a lot of mana! By exiling Serra's SanctumGC with Skybind, when we make a cleric with Heliod, God of the Sun, we can keep on making more mana with Serra's SanctumGC each time it returns to the battlefield.**

This is just some of the combos the deck can do. There are many more, but these are some of the noteworthy.

If we can't win with comboing with Skybind we'll have to do it the ol' fashioned way: THROUGH STONE COLD BEATS!!

Cards like:True Conviction, Cathars' Crusade, Marshal's Anthem, Gauntlet of Power and Caged Sun helps to weaponize our 2/1 Cleric Tokens. These cards are considered to be the the "main way" to weaponize the Clerics that Heliod, God of the Sun can make. But we can also win by making tokens with: Luminarch Ascension (Never play it on turn two, unless you want a bullseye stapled to your forehead for the rest of the game). Elspeth, Sun's Champion (Those tokens with Cathars' Crusade or the emblem can steal games pretty easy) and Springjack Shepherd. (They might be 0/1's, but the goats are no joke. They work very well with any of our "buff" cards, they can be chump blockers, get turned into mana and life with Springjack Pasture. And the shepherd can be tutored for with Recruiter of the Guard unlike Evangel of Heliod) We also run a couple of creatures that can buff our team: Mirror Entity, serves double duty as a creature buffer and combo piece. Soul of Theros Is mostly there because of theme reasons, but the fact the it gives our creatures lifelink and first strike, makes it worth playing.
