Springjack Shepherd Discussion

Yay for Goats +1!

I wanted to suggest a couple of cards in case they have not crossed your radar for the deck. First, Mistmeadow Witch . This card is a great way to blink your Springjack Shepherd and Kithkin Harbinger . It also can provide defense by exiling attackers away from you until end of turn. It's a nice option depending on your meta and fondness for Goats. The other suggestion is Emeria, The Sky Ruin . This one is great for a plains-heavy deck but your particular landbase may not support it very well.

Nice deck!

Oh solid ideas Saccox I love the Angel of Vitality and the Survival Cache I will definitely be putting those in the deck. the only reason I wouldn't use Recumbent Bliss in my version of the deck is because for for every card I add I also have to remove one too. I feel adding in that extra protection isn't always needed since ill be making so much life per turn and I ether kill them with Springjack Shepherd, Blasting Station combo or just straight out number with chop blockers to an extent that pretty much only decks with heavy late game flying/trample would have an easy time breaking through.

So I have a special fondness for Springjack Shepherd and Springjack Pasture in these kinds of decks. It can net you a lot of mana and life in a turn, and adds one more creature to go infinite with Ashnod's Altar and Eldrazi Displacer

is Training Grounds really worth it? I also don't really get what the big deal is with Dream Eater but that might just show what a bad blue mage I am.

I personally have problems with such an unflickerable as Walking Ballista being in a deck that's so much about flickering. Have you thought about Thornbite Staff for infinite damage instead? When it's not acting as a finisher it can give you more roon triggers.

Obelisk of Urd could be good. Maybe even freecastable, sometimes. Oof of a Springjack Shepherd

I have tried Trading Post in this deck, but it didn't make the cut because it does what other cards in the deck already do, but slower and with less relevance.

Springjack Pasture gives life/goats just as Trading Post does while still acting as a land and providing a method to turn goats into a burst of mana for the Angel Token win-condition.

Springjack Shepherd conjures an immediate goat-storm for the same mana cost and can double as a control card via a sudden wall of goats, and provides instant value when returned to the field from the graveyard via Emeria, The Sky Ruin (which can't target Trading Post) or Emeria Shepherd.

Trading Post in comparison, is a non-land card that drops a single goat per turn and has a heal that requires a discard (which is counter-intuitive to the base control strategy of matching your opponent card-for-card) and gives artifact versatility that is meaningless to this deck.

Hi PeachSchnaawps,

So unlike Red (Fanatic of Mogis) and Black (Gray Merchant of Asphodel) White didn't get a proper Devotion hitter, but before Devotion there was Chroma, which provided Light from Within. In your deck I'd definitely consider it. Another card is Springjack Shepherd, this would be more reliant on your other pumps but might be worth considering.

Sideboard wise Stony Silence, Rest in Peace and Leyline of Sanctity are usual suspects for White...

Hope this is of some help, have fun brewing your deck.
