It started as a simple idea: Gaddock Teeg makes it harder for players to cast high cost spells, but what about the low cost spells? What's in his colors? Well, there's Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (+1), and Lodestone Golem (+1) is colorless. Now wait a minute, aren't there more like a lot of things that do that? So the following were added:

Now let's say you try playing a Swords to Plowshares or Brainstorm during my turn. Well that 1 cost spell now cost 11 mana to cast (only 8 during your turn).

"Well wait a minute, I don't want to be paying 7+ mana for a creature or removal." You're right, that's stupid. We need to lower our own costs:

I'm aware of how Gaddock Teeg works. I know increasing the cost of a card via other means doesn't increase the original CMC. While Gaddock blocks off the CMC 4+ spells, that still gives your opponents the option of casting lower cost things. The point of the deck is to making those low cost spells cost a lot; I want my opponents to spend a crapton of mana to cast that 1 cost removal spell.
