This is my pet deck. It was my first deck I built getting back into magic after 10+ years of no play, and my introduction to commander. I had a really crappy Azorius deck from when I used to play, so I searched for a suitable commander. I read Brago, King Eternal ability, a couple of primers, and went to town with him.

It started as a very casual deck, with extremely high mana curve, and all sorts of cards. After a years worth of continuous changes and improvements, it ended up like the list above. It is my own take on a non-stax, but competitive Brago, King Eternal deck.

It relies on cards like Cloudblazer, Tsabo's Web & Wall of Omens to draw, and draw and draw... It's got all the control elements you'd expect from a control deck, with the exception of maybe boardwipes, because my meta is very heavy on the "I don't play creatures" side. I had to put a pretty strong protection package for the commander, since he is focused quite a lot. Counterspells, and Faith's Reward are excellent for this.

You end the game by assembling the Strionic Resonator infinite loop, and usually drawing you whole deck with any "draw a card" ETB permanent, and flashing in Venser, Shaper Savant to bounce everything to your opponents hands. If they don't scoop, you play Helm of Obedience + Rest in Peace combo next turn to mill them all.
