For a long time I could not find a new commander that looked fun enough for me to start building another EDH deck. There were a lot of attempts at building a new deck but nothing really stuck. Until now. I can finally welcome Atraxa, Praetors' Voice as my fourth official EDH deck!

Atraxa, Plague Bringer

Deck reworked, new description coming soon.

In further playtesting of the deck, I found my self quite unhappy with how it played, and so I made the decision to go for the full sledgehammer changes I tried avoiding before. In short, the entire deck (minus the land base) has been completely changed. Very little of the original deck remains outside of a few select mana rocks and a couple other cards that have ridiculous synergy with Atraxa's proliferate.

So, I've gone from one unusual Atraxa deck strategy to another, but this one definitely benefits from my choice of commander much more significantly. Instead of being a stax deck, the deck now revolves around the use and spread of -1/-1 counters, like a plague, but also utilize ways to prevent my own creatures from succumbing to the plague and to make them even stronger. For this, there is a sub-theme of the use of +1/+1 counters, but as it is not the main strategy of the deck it is not built to the power level it could were it the sole theme of the deck. But that doesn't make it any less powerful here.

Basically, the new idea behind the deck is to spread the plague and keep the field clear of opposing creatures so that my army of super buffed creatures can swing in freely for the kill. Proliferate is a more prominent strategy of the deck than it ever was before, and there are a lot more unique synergies (and some anti-synergies) built into the deck, to help make it volatile, powerful, and much more proactive than its previous incarnation. Hopefully, this new deck list will surpass my expectations and be a better deck than the old version ever was.

Card Changes: 50+, too many to list
