Triskelavus Discussion

Cartrix on Double Down

Thanks for the suggestion. I might replace the Triskelavus with the Walking Ballista.

Cool deck bro. This may not be a big deal with your recursion options, but have you thought of something like Triskelavus for token production in response to Liliana of the Veil type removal?

I absolutely love the deck. After seeing this I am now determined to make my own variation including some of the following suggestions. Btw this is so long because its also a note to myself.

You seem to have a focus on +1/+1 counters. There are some cards that care about that, like Tuskguard Captain, Crowned Ceratok, Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch, Mer-Ek Nightblade, Battlefront Krushok, and Ion Storm.

If you find that you can easily put such counters on your creatures, some, like Spike Weaver, Deathbringer Thoctar, and Triskelavus, particularly like them, and it works well with persist: Murderous Redcap, Puppeteer Clique, Cauldron of Souls, Furystoke Giant, Aerie Ouphes, and Woodfall Primus.

cool deck! i've been running a pretty nutty ezuri deck for a while now, with an alarming amount of success. my record so far is 112 experience counters before everyone scooped, i generally end most games around 60. you can peep the list here if you want some ideas -

our decks are a bit different, i generally rely on trying to look harmless and relying on tricky politics and card draw early game, then holding enough counter magic in hand to safely close out the game in one or two turns. my favorite and most often win con is Triskelavus + Ashnod's Altar. math can be a headache tho! some things i would highly suggest are Mindless Automaton, Vanishing (if you resolve this on a booted up ezuri he is damn near impossible to take out), Cryptolith Rite, Ashnod's Altar. i'd also keep Cold-Eyed Selkie in there too, its great early game, most people will just ignore it if you're just drawing two or three cards off it a turn. islandwalk is nothing to scoff at either. after months of playing this deck i've found that the most important thing is honestly just protecting ezuri. if he gets taken out too many times you just straight can't win. the decks become a huge target in my playgroup, but with enough counter magic, tutors and card draw i've still been winning more often than not.

Hangarback Walker and Hooded Hydra are brutal with your Commander. Triskelavus, Thopter Squadron and Pentavus are continous Mana Dumps and flying Token Spawners.

Doubling Season could turn your deck concept into a beast! Fable of Wolf and Owl could be nice as well.

Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury and Awakening Zone are great tools. Snake Pit and Wolfcaller's Howl might work wonders if your play group would trigger them consistently.

Honorable mentions: Saproling Symbiosis, Fungal Sprouting, Mitotic Slime, Symbiotic Wurm, Mongrel Pack, Beacon of Creation and Master of Waves.
