Prowess Tokens EDH - Elsha of the Infinite

Commander / EDH Casual RUW (Jeskai, America) Spellslinger Tokens

Instant (1)

Sorcery (1)

This deck aims to win the game by creating lots of tokens and pumping them with mass-prowess effects through some spellslinging.
The most valuable engines in the deck are the token generators (Monastery Mentor, The Locust God, Kykar, Wind's Fury, ...). Unfortunately, there's only a limited number of them, so you should aim to only play them with the possibility of quickly creating many tokens.

The mass-prowess triggers are Strongarm Monk, Soulblade Djinn and Jeskai Ascendancy and to a lesser extent Valor in Akros. By slinging spells you pump your token army and swing in for the win.

Eventhough the deck has quite the low average CMC, our strategy still relies on lots of mana and tempo advantage. For this cause, various mana rocks provide enough mana acceleration without setting you behind in cards as heavily, since you can also cast them with Elsha of the Infinite off the top of the library.

The Commander provides you never run out of resources, while serving with a prowess body herself. In order to be able to actually profit off of her ability, I included top deck manipulation through cards like Sensei's Divining Top or effects that let you scry.

There are a few additional card draw spells and engines like Fact or Fiction and Jori En, Ruin Diver to help keep the gas coming.

The rest of the cards not yet mentioned largely just synergizes with the tokens and spellslinging strategy of the deck.

If you're looking for a more detailed analysis of the intended use of each card in this deck, have a look at the Custom Categories I wrote (e.g. Removal, Card Draw, etc.).

  • I play in a heavy ramp-focused meta. In order to mitigate the advantage my opponents get by playing 5-10 ramp spells, I decided to include Fall of the Thran and Keldon Firebombers. It's been working quite nicely so far. Our Mana Rocks and low amount of lands (only 33 in the deck) make these specific land destruction cards almost purely asymmetric.

  • There are lots of removal spells in this deck, because I like to be able to affect the course of the game and deal with stuff. You can easily add/substract one or two of those.

  • I am very open for card discussions and your thoughts on my build. Let me know if you have ideas for improvement or interesting jank.

Thanks for reading, have fun!
