I finally did it...

Kess, Dissident Mage is a fantastic storm commander but in the cEDH world "Pure Storm" strategies are just sub par. When people see Kess as your commander, they will automatically assume you're on Tainted-Consult these days. Quite frankly I should be doing that if I'm playing her... but I'm sticking to my preference in winning with storm!

Yidris is just better with a Pure Storm strategy. Sure people will be more afraid to let him stay alive for a full turn cycle, but we never needed our commander to win in the first place! He will just be more useful and more powerful. Kess did help in longer, grindy games but Yidris will help when we need to race the table.

It should also be noted there's a discrepancy in counter magic but those we traded for more interaction in Decay and Trophy. Definitely will be a change of pace but Yidris is super fun and I obviously prefer storm because it's more fun.
