First attempt at high-power Maze's End . From a flavour perspective and abilities, I believe Niv-Mizzet Reborn is the best commander to fill this role. Previously the choice commander for Maze decks was mostly Child of Alara for the protection/rattlesnake effect, stalling games long enough to draw into the win; however higher power games simply don't care about attacking into her, or letting the game resolve past t5.

The plan with this deck is to win and tutoring for 1 land at a time with cards like Open the Gates , or beating with Gate Colossus , isn't effective enough in a more competitive meta. I've decided instead for a more Stax build, hopefully slowing the game down enough to combo/or naturally draw into the win.

Win cons

Mill deck with Hermit Druid , flashback Memory's Journey to put Splendid Reclamation on top of your library, cast it. All lands return to battlefield, using Deserted Temple untap Maze's End and activating it for the win.

With the final The Mending of Dominaria trigger on the stack, activate Druid to mill entire deck. All lands return to battlefield, using Temple to untap the Maze and activate for the win.

All players play land-go until you finally play your 10 gates for the win.
Fetch all gates.

Niv-Mizzet, while I doubt will be cast, can acrew extra value. I'd love some thoughts on the deck and ideas. The early land base is currently causing me issues (semi-solved by combing through Tazzri lists)

Edit 1: +-Changed my mana base to better mirror FC Tazzri.

- Grapple with the Past + Memory's Journey
