Why go big, when you can go infinite?
There's a few combos out there but the most budget one I've seen goes: Elvish Guidance and your Arbor Elf , and Sword of the Paruns plus any three elves you've got. If you've got Ezuri out you can pump your boys silly.



Some board wipe options:
The Great Aurora , Perilous Vault , Nevinyrral's Disk , Setessan Tactics , Wave of Vitriol , Ratchet Bomb , Worldslayer , Polukranos, World Eater (sorry it's not an elf but you'll have the mana for sure). You'd probably only need 2/3.

Some removal options:
Beast Within , Desert Twister , Krosan Grip , Deglamer , Scour from Existence Nature's Claim is a straight upgrade to some cards already in your deck.
These might be better if you don't want something bouncing back to the command zone or something similiar Lignify , Song of the Dryads and there's a new one Kenrith's Transformation in case you want to turn something into an Elk.

Yeah, your list looks great. Seems a little light on interaction but that might be inevitable considering how many dinos you need to run and the ramp spells to support them. Rite of Passage is some sick Enrage tech!! Crush Contraband is a great new card. Glad you included Runic Armasaur --seems awesome. I count twelve ramp and discount cards and that's probably where you want to be! It's a lot but dinos.

I know your slots are tight but here are some cards worth putting in the memory banks/maybeboard.

Duelist's Heritage is half-price since the reprint. Might be worth considering. Double triggers and no equip cost, after all. Small upside of being usable in political ways.

I know it's not cheap but Smothering Tithe is great in this deck. Land Tax obviously too.

True Conviction would be castable for you if you're looking to upgrade later. The lifelink might be great since your strategy is a bit slow to start.

You might want to consider putting Swords to Plowshares and/or another instant-speed removal card for when Polyraptor and Marauding Raptor start to combo because without stopping the chain the game ends in a draw. Being 1 CMC is very attractive since you've likely cast a spell once the chain starts.

Nahiri's Machinations might be a good budget way to use your commander liberally. Also worth noting would be Prowler's Helm and Trailblazer's Boots . Key to the City and Manifold Key too.

Kinjalli's Sunwing seems worthy of consideration. I now you're going for Enrage-tribal but the effect shouldn't be underestimated. Worth putting in the maybeboard IMO.

Colossal Majesty is a good one for this deck (most likely). Don't forget Harmonize

Where it me I'd include one more silver-bullet board wipe, like Planar Cleansing , Cleansing Nova , Austere Command , or Hour of Revelation . If you're worried about your enchantments you could do Hallowed Burial or Descend upon the Sinful .

Since you're running so few artifacts it might be fun to include some hosers like Stony Silence , Creeping Corrosion and Shatterstorm (my favs), or Fracturing Gust . Pulverize is on-flavor! By Force and Vandalblast are good too. There are tons of other great interaction cards but with so few slots and with all your ramp you may as well go for the big ones. Purify is good but you may want to keep your enchantments around. Seeds of Innocence is a funny one. Collector Ouphe is good but it's not a dino and it'll probably get killed by your Enrage stuff. Rampage of the Clans is a fun new one. Slight flavor fail though.

Wear / Tear , Ancient Grudge , Destructive Revelry , Hull Breach , Nature's Claim , Unravel the Aether , Deglamer , Dust to Dust , Return to Dust , and Ray of Distortion are solid in case you need something

Yea, there are several cool things about Unravel/ Deglamer . I actually really like Manglehorn and have one ordered atm. As for the welding jar stuff, I think if I start seeing more affinity by me (I started playing some paper modern last week locally) I may consider a solo Oxidize just because of how annoying welding jar can be. I've also used Creeping Corrosion in the past... that cmc, tho...

I always tend to like sideboards with several 1-of's, but I realize it would probably be best in decks like stompy to make the sb short and sweet. I'm going to try a similar board to your out soon, including Spellskite , a card I've always wanted but used to be too expensive for how much I play paper (also kinda fell out of favor for quite some time). I like it better than Back to Nature against bogles and it helps a bit vs burn and some others as well. I don't own 2 Dismembers, but I have 2 Gut Shot that I have used successfully in the past so I may go 2:2 there. Anyway, thx for the answers and gl w/ the deck!

Creeping Renaissance can either get a lot of your instant tricks back or a good number of creatures if you've been wiped a few times. There's also Praetor's Counsel but renaissance is cheaper.

I dig the bounce Toothy (or other useful creature) tech.

That comment about needing Nexus of Fate is exactly why you don't want it or the other auto includes. Boring B.S. This deck actually looks fun.

Psychosis Crawler would do some work, but you've gone down that road before.

How have I not seen Forge of Heroes ?

Beast Within over Rapid Hybridization ? I know it costs 2 more, but more flexible and you've driven down the CMC of the deck as it is.

Shadow Rift over Slip Through Space ? I'm not seeing why the colorless makes sorcery speed better, or the slight risk of running into a Nether Traitor.

I don't think the cycling makes Dissenter's Deliverance better than Deglamer .

Glen Elendra Archmage is probably an auto include you should include considering how many uses you'd likely get out of it.

Spike Weaver is something I'd put in, but not really your style. But... fogs...

Funny thing Luarviq, Deadeye/Peregrine( Palinchron ) combo not as bad as you would think. There are many ways to actually deal with it. Provided you have the mana on the time as well. Like in response to ETB trigger you can remove Deadeye, or response to activating soulbond.

Some cards that do this are:

In regards to Defense of the Heart , there should really be no reason why that stays on the battlefield longer than one rotation with it being active. There are several great removals that are cheap and decent, ex. Nature's Claim , Krosan Grip , Naturalize , Deglamer , Unravel the Aether to name a few.

I am a fan of tutors, because they lead to deck consistency, it does goes against the spirit of EDH but I am a competitive player so I like to win.

you really need to get Stony Silence and some graveyard hate into that sideboard of yours though.

If I were to ignore price completely, I would upgrade your sideboard to look something like this:

1x Kambal, Consul of Allocation

1x Thoughtseize

1x Sigarda, Host of Herons

Makes sense. On the artifact hate spells, that's what I get for not giving a complete read to the primer :). Deglamer seemed good to me for the face that it's easier for mana decks to get permanents from their yard rather than their library (especially if they already used a tutor on getting that key piece out), and if it's a 3-4 turn meta, then they are very likely not going to draw into it again. However, I definitely appreciate the need to counter Paradox Engine, and even to escape counter spells or other instant responses to the removal. The 1 cmc more is pretty good in those situations :).

Blood Artist as punishment for sac combos makes alot of sense... for example, decks like Abzkaban's Ghave That Bitch an Infinite Combo Primer would hate it being out! Excellent call. Especially if you can Pattern of Rebirth it as an instant response to them saying, "and I'm gonna do this sac cycle one million times".

I got that with Blood Pet. I just figured that if it was just as a sac for pattern of rebirth, you had mentioned yourself that you have plenty of sac engines in the there. But, if a swamp or two is what you're missing to close things out, it's pure value for you :).

K, thanks for the clarification on the flash in of Grand Abolisher. hkhssweiss, I was wondering because under your "Card Selection", "Enchantments" for Pattern of Rebirth, you say you can bring it out in "worse case scenario", which made me think an instant speed response.

Why not run Nature's Claim over Krosan Grip, especially if it's a fast meta? Even without split second, I bet the 1 cmc might make more of a difference? Or, depending on the recursion in your meta, Deglamer?

I support Zulaport Cutthroat, because it's each player (as you mentioned) - I guess the question is: are you losing creatures fast enough compared to others in your meta to make this strictly better than Blood Artist?

I like Matrixxx999 idea of Blood Pet. Even better in a deck with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, but pretty sweet in reanimators - though for 1 reanimation a turn, is the single swamp and built-in self-sac you get worth it? Value in a Meren for the single turn of ramp and experience counter trigger, but I wonder, would it have the same value in this deck? You might find yourself wanting the extra swamp for a combo when Pattern of Rebirthing, but maybe just as often not so the card slot may not be worth it? You'd know as the pilot of the deck :).
