Maybeboard

Hi there!

Do You want to explore the wonders of prohibitive magic? Do You want to find new ways to interact with Your friends, entirely on Your terms? Do You want to trade those friends for superfriends instead? Would You like to ask Yourself why in the world You are not playing Queen Marchesa as your general?

Then this might be the deck for You!

Zurgo Helmsmasher is a 7/2 who is indestructable during your turn. Most people see this and say "Hey! A three hit KO with protection?! Sweet!", I see this and say "Holy ****! I can Wrath of God every turn without blowing him up?! Sweet!". So I added a lot of wraths and thought "Hold on, my Woodland Elemental really sucks when I blow up the board so much. Not sweet!" so I took him out of the deck. In fact, I took all the ceatures out of my deck so I didn't have to worry about killing them. And then it hit me that if I didn't play any creatures why sould anyone else be allowed to? That just seems unfair to me. So I added a lot of creature hate, Blind Obedience, Humility, Spreading Plague and Smoke among others, to make sure that the others don't get to play any creatures either. Since I was now running alot of enchantments I took a second look at my wrath spells to make sure they didn't kill enchantments, and I realised "Huh, none of these board wipes hit planeswalkers. Swwet!". And in came Ajani Vengeant, Ob Nixilis Reignited, Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and Liliana Vess along with some more of their pals. Now a solid game plan starts to take shape in my head "If I play a couple of walkers and blow up the world, wouldn't that be kind of, alittle bit...sweet?", and boy it was! I added land destruction cards like Armageddon, Jokulhaups, Death Cloud and Pox along with cards that hate everything (except planeswalkers and enchantments) such as Torpor Orb, Smokestack, Stranglehold, Blood Moon, Oppression, Price of Glory and Burning Sands, and just to be a complete ass I thought I might as well build a little fort on the now barren wasteland that once was my friends kitchen table - but not the cute Propaganda one! I added No Mercy, Aurification and Karmic Justice to make it hard for anyone who somehow manages to get a creature or two stick (by, I don't know.. playing Zurgo Helmsmasher with Assault Suit as their general or something) to actually hurt me.

Zurgo Staxerfriends is a deck that I have been developing over the last few months, and it is an antisocial blast to play. I get to do all the evil things I like to do all day and still get to survive doing it sometimes! But playing a deck like this, a deck that tries to screw its opponents in any way possible (but mostly through screwing their creatures and instants over) is only fun if those opponents agree to take the challenge. If not you're still gonna have fun, but likely only for a single game (or less in the case of table flipping...). Also, I have found that this deck does better against very powerful decks than it does against mid-tier decks since it really helps to have someone else draw some heat in the early turns. You're completely fine being ganged up upon once your walls are up and the opponents have had their resources properly managed, but if the entire table join forces aginst you before that it's not looking good.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, they've been a great help. Suggestions on improvements are very welcome regarding any part of the deck. I myself am at the present looking into possible alternatives to simply drawing cards, if I could find a way to consistantly get cards myself while also in some way staxing my opponents that would be preferable to cards like Phyrexian Arena and Bottled Cloister. So suggestions regarding that would be especially appreciated!
