This equipment/ control deck is the result of obsessive tinkering over the past year. It is tuned to excel in multiplayer but is quite capable in 1v1. Unlike many Zurgo Helmsmasher decks on tappedout I dont make my general the focal point of my strategy (although he benefits from it and is a brutally efficient plan b). Instead this deck relies upon powerful equipment (ex. Sword of Fire and Ice) and mana efficient creatures (ex. Kor Duelist & Goblin Gaveleer) to put consistent pressure on opponents without overextending myself.

While not overly oppressive ex. (No stax effects or mass land destruction!) this deck has a strong removal package. For the most part, my instants and sorceries were chosen due to their interaction with Goblin Dark-Dwellers and Sunforger. I am trying to ensure most my instants and sorceries are 3cc and less and my instants have either white or red in them, unless the card is too good not too include (ex. Vampiric Tutor ; Entomb ; Austere Command. I do this to get maximum value out of each spell.

Lastly there are a number of consistent card advantage and recursion engines in this deck, which allow the deck to get out of hand quickly:

Sun Titan: is by far the best recursion engine in this deck. Therefore, most of my key permanents are 3cc or less so I can repeatedly bring back anything my opponents destroy again and again.

Besides Necropotence best draw engine in the deck is Bloodghast + Skullclamp . This turns fetchlands into pay 2 draw 4! I have a ton of ways to tutor for Skullclamp so I am always happy to draw an Entomb, which is nearly always used to put Bloodghast in the graveyard.

In this deck lifegain is a resource that is utilized to great effect. It allows me to make full use of cards like Necropotence, Fire Covenant, and Toxic Deluge. The lifegain also allows me to be aggressive without worrying too much about damage coming back at me.
