HELP IS NEEDED! I highly appreciate any card suggestions, as this is a relatively new deck for me! Do keep in mind with the suggestions that I don't want this deck to go infinite or hard-lock all of my opponents - I just want to make a more casual and somewhat budget, but strong and "fair" deck.

A much more fair, non-infinite and a partially non-combo oriented Gitrog deck - a deck which, although still very strong, also lets you keep most of your friends. It still has the tools to perform impressive and seemingly broken things/combos, all while keeping up the illusion that your opponents actually had a chance to begin with.

Early Game

This deck aims to pump out lands early game through ramp creatures and spells. Some notable cards to achieve this include:

Burgeoning

Azusa, Lost but Seeking

Courser of Kruphix

Lotus Cobra

Realms Uncharted

Far Wanderings

Kodama's Reach

Sakura-Tribe Elder

Yavimaya Elder

World Shaper (also provides fuel for Gitrog and reanimation targets)

Wayward Swordtooth

Midgame to Late Game

When we finally get our commander out, it's time to start sacrificing our own lands in order to gain pure value through card draws and graveyard manipulation. Besides some lands being able to either sacrifice themselves / cycle, cards like Zuran Orb, Mesmeric Orb, Squandered Resources, Life from the Loam, Traverse the Outlands, Ramunap Excavator, Crucible of Worlds and Sylvan Safekeeper allows us to power our engine to get all of our lands back and reach our game finishing creatures. Some of our game finishing creatures include:

Titania, Protector of Argoth

Liege of the Tangle

Avenger of Zendikar

Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest

Rampaging Baloths

Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar (this one might get removed after Dominaria hits and I've tested it thouroughly)

Your opponents will try to keep you down and destroy all of your creatures. Luckily, we have multiple ways of bringing them back:

Strands of Night (this further rewards us by sacrificing our lands in the process)

Journey to Eternity

Genesis (it can be tricky to get this in the graveyard, though)

Possibly The Mending of Dominaria? (I need to see this card in action before I'll add it to the decklist, it does seem a little slow)

Nissa, Vital Force

Controlling your opponents until the Gitrog-value takes off

Since this a more friendly Gitrog build, the scary and relatively slower build-up of our engines (compared to the highly competitive version) makes you a prime target. Multiple cards will help you keep the opponents of your back (You could tutor for them with Beseech the Queen, Demonic Tutor etc), such as:

Damnation

Toxic Deluge

Black Sun's Zenith

Constant Mists (this one is almost too broken)

Roar of Challenge (Always use the Gitrog Monster itself as the target - works as an one-sided board wipe)

Slowly, you'll also be able to lock your opponents out of the game by taking out their lands one by one (Desolation and especially sacrificing and returning Strip Mine again and again). Or you can go out with a bang by tapping all of your lands, sacrifice every single tapped land with Squandered Resources and then use Torment of Hailfire.
