This was my first commanderdeck, and it has gone through various degrees of alterations. It started as an extremely effective stax strategy centered around domination through activated abilities, as seen here

I then tried to drum it down a bit by transforming it to a not so effective wizard tribal deck. From the ashes of the misery and frustration brought by the wizard tribal, this deck arose. While the current form of the deck isn't the most expensive lot, it is not quite budget either. While being casual, it can hold its own against more competitive decks as well. It is fun to play and can win you the game either through commander dmg or regular beat down tactics. There are no combos, no 1 draw wincons, no stax, and only 2 cards able to destroy irritating lands (as I am mostly against discard- and landdestruction tactics as well), - just loads and loads of synergy cards.

This deck is made from the idea that magic is best played when everyone is having fun (while the victor still ends up being myself). Drawing cards and ramping mana while beating opponents with a birdformed stick fits this definition quite well. Every card is drawn from value town and will net you mana, draw or sticks with which to beat.

Why play bant?

Bant offers a lot of versatility. examples within this deck being: Draw, Ramp, Removal, Beaters, Evasion, Control, Massremoval. In short in the right setup within bant, you will be able to not only draw a lot of cards, but also ramp like crazy and thus be able to have a very huge board presence very very fast.

Why play Derevi?

Derevi is in my oppinion an extremely versatile commander as well. She offers various tactics as she contains some pretty dope abilities.

Her activated ability grants you the opportunity to flash her in from the commandzone at any time and triggering her ETB tap/untap ability. (In another setup it would offer a wide array of infinite combos as well, but thats not the direction here.) Furthermore the flash like ability grants you the opportunity to react to any kind of trigger on the stack, to put something nasty on top of that in addition.

ETB Tap/Untap Second ability is the triggered ETB, which I find absolutely adorable. Being able to tap/untap any kind of permanent on the board of any friend or foe at flash speed is just insane. In two headed, it could grant additional mana for your comrade, or help tap down any pescy blockers, a huge unfriendly fiend which wont be attacking you (or be able to block next combat step), or some kind of activated ability of ones own.

Tap/Untap triggered from DMG This is the reason activated abilities are a huge thing in my derevi based decks. As each attack grants a seperate Tap/Untap trigger to go on the stack, you can essentially target the same creature with an activated ability (X) times, then as each trigger resolves an untap, just tap the dude in response and you will do the thing (X) times. You will also be able to for example produce an enormous amount of mana (but as mana produced in the combat phase empties before second mainphase, either use it with an instant with cost or something with flash. If nothing else, untap the attacking creatures and be ready to block.

Finally Derevi herself has a 2/3 body, with flying. This means that she can survive most faststepped commanders as a blocker, and the evasive flying ability for a -drop combined with a 2/3 body also outpaces most other creatures of the sort.

If you like the deck, upvote it here, suggestions are wellcome, but keep in mind the playstyle I am trying to promote.
