What's It Do?

This cEDH deck looks to race out the combo, but with a few back-up plans. Plan-A is to go infinite with Protean Hulk . There's a handful of ways to sacrifice the Hulk instantly or you can just activate Sneak Attack and win when it isn't even your turn! Protean Hulk tutors out all of your instant-speed win combos directly to the board and even kills players that cast the ever-bothersome Teferi's Protection . Use the Hulk to chain together creatures until you have Mike on the field. From there, go infinite and K.O. the competition! My favorite win in the deck is Altar of Dementia + Puppeteer Clique , but usually a simple Ballista will finish it.

Plan-B is Food Chain . It's almost free to include the full package of Food Chain, Eternal Witness , and Squee, the Immortal . The easiest payoff for the Chain is Walking Ballista .

The Hulk Lines

If the coast is clear and there is a repeatable sac-outlet on the board, just grab Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Walking Ballista . But, if you need to be safer or need to grab a sac-outlet with the Hulk , then here are some sample lines:

  1. Kill the Hulk
  2. Grab a 1 mana Sac-Dork Viscera Seer or Carrion Feeder and Phyrexian Delver
  3. The Delver returns the Hulk
  4. Sacrifice your Hulk and grab Mike + Ballista

If you need to be even safer, use Faceless Butcher and Body Snatcher to reset your Delver multiple times and keep triggering the Hulk combo.

Protection

Obviously, the table is going to have their own threats or, worse, answers to your combo. There are two forms of protection in the deck:

  1. Answers to Roadblocks
  2. Answers to Threats

Answers to Roadblocks

Cards that prevent counterspells like Vexing Shusher or Dosan the Falling Leaf are in the deck only to protect your spells. Rhythm of the Wild on the other hand pulls double-duty; not only are your creatures uncounterable, but the Riot mechanic enables the combo with the Persist mechanic! Murderous Redcap + Rhythm of the Wild is very hard to answer. Aside from countermagic, the other biggest roadblocks are permanent-based hate like Torpor Orb or Rest in Peace . A single Hushbringer can completely lock you out if not dealt with. For that, there is a good selection of spot and board removal.

Answers to Threats

There are three answers: Spot removal, board removal, and player removal.

Have fun and take a look at my other lists please. Thank you for your time.
