Maybeboard

This is sort of an awkward thing to say about my favorite deck, but honestly Breya doesn't really have a game plan. The strategy looks kinda like this, I suppose:

  1. Play artifacts
  2. Profit

Okay, that's not true. I suppose the real plan is Thopter Foundry and Sword of the Meek, either for value or to combo out with Urza, Lord High Artificer. However, the deck doesn't need any of that and can function as just a plan old grindy value deck. It's kinda boring when you put it that way, but Breya is a fairly cookie cutter value commander. The rate on the card is absurd, and you really don't care if Breya dies. Frankly, you don't care if anything dies. Everything is redundant, there's a ton of recursive options, and if you can't do anything else you just recast Breya and shrug. This deck tanks board wipes, single target removal, countermagic, etc because nothing is essential. The only really backbreaking thing you can do to it is overload Vandalblast very eary or stick an Aura Shards and have it never die. I suppose Rest in Peace would also be pretty bad, but that's not a heavily played card except at very high power tables. Most people put their graveyard hate on creatures that Breya eats for breakfast. Even if your graveyard does get hated out, you can just transition into a blink plan with Eldrazi Displacer and Brago, King Eternal.

The deck has two primary combos. As previously mentioned, Thopter Foundry +Sword of the Meek + Urza, Lord High Artificer will allow you to win on the spot. If you can't assemble this win, just grind the value game and you can usually beat people without very dedicated artifact or graveyard hate.

It boils down to options. You always have options when all your cards replace themselves, your commander has removal stapled to it, and your theme is based on arguably the strongest card type in the history of magic.
