Welcome to my Bant Midrange/Battlecruiser EDH deck list.

The first thing you may notice about it, is that the commander is just ever-so-slightly not legal. You might be wondering about that, and I can explain myself, I swear!

For the longest time I have been wondering about how I can play Tamiyo, Field Researcher , or Tamiyo, the Moon Sage in a meaningful way with commander.

When Oathbreaker came out, I was stoked. Finally I could bring out my favouritest everest planeswalkers and come up with something good! Except the format fell flat on its face and never became worth investing $700+ into a couple of decent lists.

But, with modern horizons (although arguably my lack of knowledge may deceive me, there might be a better choice someone can advise me on), AND the release of Eldraine's brawl decks, I have a unique solution to my unplayed favourites.

Unofficial/illegal commander decks, with legal, viable substitutes in the 99 which I can use in the case I may not be permitted to place these planeswalkers in to the command zone.

I will visit The Moon Sage another time in an episode II to this journey. Today we will be focusing on Tamiyo, Field Researcher , and Chulane, Teller of Tales .

The win-cons for this puppy is just as plain as it gets, we survive until mid-late game, where our healthy mana base, and colour triangle introduces extremely powerful combat steps. Big anthem creatures and finisher spells. Nothing too new about the win-cons, except for Tamiyo's ultimate (in the case we manage to pull it off, which I really hope I can manage some day).

I have some evasive unblockables because they're excellent with Tamiyo's +1.

If I need to, for legality purposes, have an official commander, in steps Chulane, Teller of Tales . I would say that in most instances I have a strong case for when I suggest that Chulane would be more powerful than Tamiyo in a creature deck, so most of the time people will allow her. Getting to -7 from 4 on a +1 ability is no simple task!
