Deck Overview

This is a highly optimized Sans-White (Glint-Eye) cEDH Midrange-Turbo deck powered by the partner pairing of Thrasios, Triton Hero and Vial Smasher the Fierce.

While Vial Smasher the Fierce serves as a crucial color enabler to give us access to the explosive red core of Grixis, she also acts as an early creature presence to turn on premium free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship. The deck's primary engine utilizes green's efficient fast-mana dorks alongside top-tier card advantage pieces like Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, Necropotence, and The One Ring to out-value the table. Once a window of opportunity opens, we pivot aggressively to close out the game using the absolute fastest and most compact win conditions available in modern cEDH.

This is your most explosive win condition. It requires Underworld Breach, Lion's Eye Diamond, and Brain Freeze in either your hand or graveyard, with enough cards to escape them.

  1. Cast Underworld Breach for {1}{R}.

  2. Cast Lion's Eye Diamond (LED) for {0}.

  3. Sacrifice LED, discarding your entire hand, to add {U}{U}{U} to your mana pool.

  4. Escape Brain Freeze from your graveyard by paying {1}{U} (using the mana from LED) and exiling 3 other cards from your graveyard.

  5. Target yourself with all the copies generated by Brain Freeze's Storm trigger. This puts a massive chunk of your library into your graveyard.

  6. Escape LED from your graveyard by paying {0} and exiling 3 dead cards that were just milled.

  7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 infinitely. Each loop generates a surplus of mana and puts your entire library into your graveyard.

  8. To win: Once your storm count is high enough and your library is in your graveyard, cast Brain Freeze one last time targeting all of your opponents to mill their entire decks, or escape Thassa's Oracle to win instantly.

This is your most efficient, two-card compact win condition. It requires {1}{U}{B} or {1}{U}{B}{B} total mana.

  1. Cast Thassa's Oracle for {U}{U}.

  2. Hold priority in response to Thassa's Oracle's enter-the-battlefield trigger.

  3. Cast Demonic Consultation ({B}) or Tainted Pact ({1}{B}) while the trigger is still on the stack.

  4. Name a card not in your deck (if using Consultation) or exile your entire deck until you hit the bottom (if using Pact). Your library is now completely empty.

  5. Allow the Thassa's Oracle trigger to resolve. Because you have 0 cards in your library, the number of cards in your deck is less than or equal to your devotion to blue. You win the game on the spot.

This loop generates infinite mana and allows you to use your commander, Thrasios, to draw your entire deck. It requires Isochron Scepter, Dramatic Reversal, and nonland permanents (like Birds of Paradise or Sol Ring) that can tap for at least {3} mana total.

  1. Cast Isochron Scepter for {2}.

  2. Imprint Dramatic Reversal onto the Scepter when it enters the battlefield.

  3. Tap your nonland permanents to generate at least {3} mana.

  4. Activate Isochron Scepter by paying {2} and tapping it to cast the copied Dramatic Reversal.

  5. Resolve Dramatic Reversal. This untaps all of your nonland permanents, including the Isochron Scepter itself and your mana sources.

  6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 infinitely. Each loop nets you at least 1 extra mana. Repeating this creates infinite mana of whatever colors your nonland sources can produce.

  7. To win: Pour that infinite mana directly into your commander, Thrasios, Triton Hero, activating his ability infinitely to draw your entire deck and put all your lands onto the battlefield. From there, cast Thassa's Oracle to win.

Use this if Thassa's Oracle is exiled or blocked. It requires your Infinite Dramatic Scepter Engine to already be running, plus Copy Artifact and Swan Song in hand.

  1. Establish infinite mana and untaps using the Dramatic Scepter Engine (Combo #3).

  2. Cast Copy Artifact for {1}{U}, choosing to have it enter as a exact copy of Isochron Scepter.

  3. Imprint Swan Song onto the Copy Artifact Scepter.

  4. Cast any random spell from your hand (an instant or sorcery) to start the chain.

  5. Activate the Swan Song Scepter by paying {2} to copy Swan Song, targeting your own original spell.

  6. Hold priority and activate your original Dramatic Reversal Scepter to untap both scepters.

  7. Activate the Swan Song Scepter again, this time targeting your previous Swan Song copy.

  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 infinitely. Every time a Swan Song copy is countered by another copy, its controller (you) creates a 2/2 flying Bird token.

  9. Pass the turn with an infinite army of birds to attack for the win on your next combat phase.

This does not win the game instantly, but it strips your opponents of all resources, virtually guaranteeing a win on your next turn. It requires Notion Thief and a wheel spell like Wheel of Fortune or Windfall.

  1. Flash in Notion Thief for {2}{U}{B} on the end step right before your turn, or hold it in hand.

  2. Cast Wheel of Fortune or Windfall on your main phase.

  3. Resolve the spell: Each player discards their hand.

  4. Apply Notion Thief's replacement effect: Instead of your three opponents drawing 7 cards each, Notion Thief forces you to draw those cards instead.

  5. Result: Your opponents are left with 0 cards in hand, while you draw 28 cards (7 from your wheel, plus 21 stolen from your opponents), allowing you to easily find and protect any of your actual win conditions.

In a 4-Color Sans-White deck, your mulligan strategy must adapt to your pod's speed and seating position. Because you lack White for proactive protection like Silence, you cannot afford slow, passive hands.

1. The "Snap-Keep" Hand (Turbo or High-Value Engine)

A perfect opening hand must have a clear plan to execute or heavily progress your game state by Turn 1 or Turn 2. Look for these components:

  1. Fast Mana Acceleration: At least 1-2 pieces of fast mana (e.g., Chrome Mox, Sol Ring, Birds of Paradise, or Tinder Wall).

  2. A Turn 1-2 Engine: A card that will draw you into answers or win conditions immediately (e.g., Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, The One Ring, or a quick Necropotence).

  3. At least 1 Piece of Interaction: A free or 1-mana interaction spell (e.g., Force of Will, Mental Misstep, Flusterstorm, or Veil of Summer) to protect your engine or stop an opponent's early win attempt.

2. The "Situational Keep" Hand (Midrange Grind)

Keep these hands if you are seated in the 3rd or 4th position, or if you know the pod is going to be heavily bogged down by Stax decks:

  1. Mana-Heavy/Tutor Hands: Hands that have solid land/dork counts plus a premium tutor like Demonic Tutor or Vampiric Tutor. This allows you to pivot and search for an answer to whatever stax piece hits the board (like tutoring for Boseiju, Who Endures or Cyclonic Rift).

  2. Commander Acceleration: Hands that can cast Thrasios, Triton Hero on Turn 1 and leave mana open to sink into his activation on Turn 2 if no interaction is needed.

3. The "Must-Mulligan" Hand (Traps to Avoid)

Send these hands back immediately, even if they have 3 perfect dual lands:

  1. The "Do-Nothing" Hand: Hands with great interaction spells (like Counterspell and Deflecting Swat) but no card draw engine and no fast mana. You will stall out, run out of cards, and lose to the value engines of the rest of the table.

  2. Heavy Wincon Hands: Hands holding dead combo pieces early (e.g., Thassa's Oracle + Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal but only 1 land and no mana rocks). You cannot afford to sit on dead cards for 3 turns.
