One of my first decks I ever fell in love with was the Premium Deck Series: Graveborn. I remember distinctly getting that deck and really enjoying the gameplay. I traded out some of the reanimation targets with cards like Sheoldred, Whispering One and Reaper from the Abyss. It stood out to me, even as a newer player at the time. Now, years have gone by, but I still feel a distinct joy when I cast Animate Dead on something meaty in the graveyard. I just wanted to capture the feel of a classic reanimator deck in the commander format.

But, what fun is mere deck building without a little twist! So, I'll be making a sideboard of all sorts of reanimation targets and switching them around every week, so the deck will always keep my playgroup guessing. People may be used to seeing Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant this week, but next week? Maybe they’ll be starring down a Brainstealer Dragon or a Baleful Force.
