Some say Sunforger should see several supplementary sinstants. Surely Sacred Fire, Shattering Blow, Spontaneous Combustion should suffice.

Introducing Cumly Cube 1.1! 6 months ago, Cumly Cube was launched to resounding approval. However, in response to feedback from fans, several cards in the pool were deemed unplayable, uninteresting, or overpowered. For Cumly Cube's six month anniversary, I have chosen to update the card pool. Here are the changes, provided with brief justifications:

REMOVED:

  • Abomination: too weak in power level
  • Anger of the Gods: while board wipes are an essential part of the game, this card is too simple in effect in comparison to other red board wipes in the card pool
  • Birthing Pod: synergizes poorly with the rest of the card pool
  • Black Dragon: too weak in power level
  • Black Lotus: this card and other "power 9" cards have been removed from the pool to allow players to play with less well known cards
  • Bloodcurdling Scream: too weak in power level
  • Cavalier of Night: too on-theme for a black card
  • Cinderclasm: while board wipes are an essential part of the game, this card is too simple in effect in comparison to other red board wipes in the card pool
  • Dack Fayden: too powerful
  • District Guide: synergizes poorly with the rest of the card pool
  • Dockside Extortionist: too strong in multiplayer games considering the dominance of the "treasure matters" archetype in this card pool
  • Dread Reaper: too weak in power level
  • Edric, Spymaster of Trest: too powerful
  • Eviscerator: too weak in power level
  • Grim Strider: too weak in power level
  • Hypnox: too weak in power level
  • Jungle Creeper: too weak in power level
  • Mind Bomb: too weak in power level
  • Mox Emerald: this card and other "power 9" cards have been removed from the pool to allow players to play with less well known cards
  • Mox Jet: this card and other "power 9" cards have been removed from the pool to allow players to play with less well known cards
  • Mox Pearl: this card and other "power 9" cards have been removed from the pool to allow players to play with less well known cards
  • Mox Ruby: this card and other "power 9" cards have been removed from the pool to allow players to play with less well known cards
  • Mox Sapphire: this card and other "power 9" cards have been removed from the pool to allow players to play with less well known cards
  • Nicol Bolas, the Deceiver: too weak in power level
  • Nix: too weak in power level
  • Obelisk of Alara: too weak in power level
  • Patagia Golem: too weak in power level
  • Phantasmagorian: too weak in power level
  • Prismite: too weak in power level
  • Rootcoil Creeper: synergizes poorly with the rest of the card pool
  • Shattering Blow: too strong of an answer to the artifact archetype
  • Shatterskull Smashing  Flip: MDFCs are interesting cards, but it does not make sense to have only one in the card pool
  • Smelt: too strong of an answer to the artifact archetype
  • Smog Elemental: too weak in power level
  • Spirit of the Night: too weak in power level
  • Storm Spirit: too weak in power level
  • Tibalt's Trickery: introduces too much variance for an enjoyable experience
  • Unholy Strength: too weak in power level
  • Vampiric Link: too on-theme for a black card
  • Wooded Bastion: this was included on error instead of its Golgari counterpart

So here is what I have come up with, I'm adding Shattering Blow, Seismic Shift, Destructive Revelry, Rubble Reading, Broken Bond, Volcanic Awakening, and Artisan's Sorrow for artifact enchantment destruction. I also added Tasigur's Cruelty, and Smallpox for discard. I like the dredge engine idea and ill look on card kingdom for some of the other suggest cards. Once again thank you so much.

So you mentioned that you weren't too worried about Return to Dust , has anyone in your playgroups ran cards like Dust to Dust or Extract , Shattering Blow ? Just curious.

First off I’d say swap Adamant Will for Boros Charm, Disenchant for Wear / Tear, and Shattering Blow for Return to Dust

Gird for Battle seems weak,

Heroic Reinforcements doesn’t do much,

Gallows at Willow Hill should be an Oblation or Chaos Warp because Gallows is too slow

Maybe cut a land because your curve isn’t that high?

Haazda Marshal also seems weak

Truefire Captain and Boros Reckoner seem like nonbos with Tajic, but I understand why you’re running them

Usually when people use the term "ramp" they mean mana acceleration. Perhaps you mean "pump?"

I think, given your very low AVG CMC, you could drop back to 22 lands safely. I suggest using those extra slots to add +2xSwiftblade Vindicator.

You might also consider adding a few Immortal Servitudes or Return to the Ranks, at least in your sideboard - with so few creatures, removal could really make your deck suffer.

Since you have white, you should consider dropping Shattering Blow for Revoke Existence or Disenchant. I think a couple Oblivion Rings would be useful, too, especially against planeswalkers.

Thanks Cajek. I imagine if you get an Aberration down and start swinging a Scepter or two, things would swing your way quickly. Wicked combo against aggro decks with low land counts. And if you found room for Flight or Invisibility, the Aberration will be a huge evasive beatstick. Cards like Drain Life abound in black and can buy you those extra turns against aggro to get set up and outclass them.

I've not finished my ideas for the Sideboard yet, but the 3 cards identified so far (Blood Moon, Elixir of Immortality, and Shattering Blow) would be pretty helpful in this matchup. I've given no thought yet on what they would swap in for, though.

Here are some suggestions off the top of my head. You are at 63 cards. And I'm fairly sure we've had the 60 card discussion before. :D

Consider the following changes:
-1 Bomber Corps
-1 Lightning Strike
-1 Thunderous Wrath
That drops you to 60 without any major changes to the the deck.

Here are some other cards I want you to consider:
Crash Through and Faithless Looting for card draw.
You are going to need a sideboard for more competitive environments. And the sideboard also works for testing maybe cards. Take a look at Legion Loyalist, Stonewright, Tormod's Crypt, Electrostatic Bolt, Smelt, Shattering Spree, Shattering Blow, Monastery Swiftspear, Skullcrack, Collateral Damage, Barrage of Expendables, Pyrite Spellbomb and Searing Blood as either main or sideboard cards.

Sideboard suggestion:
3 Tormod's Crypt
3 Smelt
2 Searing Blood
2 Slagstorm
2 Shattering Blow
3 ???, not sure on this one.

Let me know what you think.
