Laelia, the Blade Reforged is awesome with Jodah. Every card that is exiled with his ability is another +1/+1, so if you exile the whole library and don't find anything, she gets beefy fast.

Welcome to Magic! I highly recommend watching this deck-building template from The Command Zone, it gives extremely helpful suggestions on how to put a deck together that will run smoothly and do what you want it to do:

Also, you could visit EDHREC to get some suggestions on what cards might be good in your deck based on what other people are playing.

Some suggestions I would make:

Add Boros Signet and Talisman of Conviction to help make sure you get your colors. Because of the extra combat steps, if your budget allows, you could also consider adding Sword of the Animist.

I would consider some cheap removal spells to answer opponents' threats, namely Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, and Wear / Tear.

I would add some more protection, such as Boros Charm and Eerie Interlude.

Card draw is key, and I would consider adding Valakut Exploration and Laelia, the Blade Reforged.

Some cuts I would make:

  • Anointer of Valor, because it is too much mana to use its ability.
  • Norika Yamazaki, the Poet, because you don't have that many enchantments, and its only useful if someone killed one you really needed.
  • Rummaging Goblin, because you could just replace this with card draw or pseudo-card draw.

Hey, interesting concept, but you're sacrificing a lot of card quality and a cohesive deck strategy by playing so many different partner pairs. Instead of so many partners how about simplifying by choosing a few that also go with Breya? That way you can play these partners in a Breya version of the deck. Or switch to partner pairs, but keep the majority of the deck the same with the same strategy.

Akiri + Silas makes most sense as an alternative four color partner pair because they have synergy with artifacts and can be played with Breya as Commander. Silas + Tymna could also work for Esper with a Thopter or other artifact fliers strategy which you could also play with four color Breya as Commander. Tymna is a powerful card and it helps that Breya creates fliers making it easier to do combat damage to at least two different opponents. All the other partners are out of place and could be cut to improve the deck for Breya, Akiri, Silas and Tymna?


Akiri, Silas, Tymna and Breya can all benefit from more cards that create Thopters especially Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek which is not an infinite combo without another card, but can repeatedly create an amount of Thopters equal to the amount of mana you have available. Master Transmuter to create Thopters by keep bouncing Breya and putting her onto the battlefield for .

Breya's Apprentice with artifacts can be repeatable for the cast from exile strategy. Sai, Master Thopterist can repeatedly create Thopters with artifact theme. Sharding Sphinx can double your Thopter army when they do combat damage to opponents. Hangarback Walker can create a lot of Thopters especially when you have a lot of ramp from mana rocks or treasures. Hangarback wants to die which has synergy with Breya and Silas.


I like the idea of being able to switch to different Commanders with partners, it's creative, but for this idea of work the partners you choose need to have some synergy with each other that way you can mix and match them, but still have a cohesive deck strategy no matter which Commanders you choose. You're not taking much advantage of Breya as Commander or Silas + Akiri or Silas + Tymna and artifacts playing 44 creatures. The partners are a neat addition to Commander, but you still want to build your deck around the two you choose that way not playing so many cards that don't go with your Commanders.

Prosper, Tome-Bound and Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer are good cards for casting spells from exile because they're also enablers, you don't need to play any specific strategy to play them. They can be good with Breya because they create treasures which are artifacts. Laelia, the Blade Reforged is another good card for this strategy because she's also an enabler. Building around the exile strategy with 20+ cards is too many with Breya because the problem is if you don't draw Prosper the exile strategy doesn't do much with Breya, Akiri, Silas, Tymna as Commander.


This is an example of a streamlined/simplified creature base using some current creatures you're playing and adding my card suggestions:

Welcome to EDH! My first Magic deck was a Boros deck, so it has a special place in my heart. <3

Since you have Loyal Apprentice, you could consider adding Breath of Fury which can be used to have endless combat steps as long as the fliers Loyal Apprentice produce can connect to a player.

Additionally, I would consider removing most of the Mentor cards and replacing them with more immediately impactful cards. Mentor takes a while to build up and each mentor creature only buffs one other creature at a time, meaning it usually takes a few turns to get enough out if it to secure the win. If this is a token deck, I would recommend adding some more token produced as well, such as Hanweir Garrison  Meld and Leonin Warleader.

Also, you have very little card draw and ramp. My recommendation is to have at least 8 sources of card draw and 8 sources of ramp. Some ramp I would suggest is: Boros Signet, Talisman of Conviction, Mind Stone, Smothering Tithe, Keeper of the Accord, and maybe Cursed Mirror or Professional Face-Breaker. Some card draw I would suggest is: Esper Sentinel, Battle Angels of Tyr, Court of Grace, Jeska's Will, and Laelia, the Blade Reforged.

Okay I'm really happy with the deck now, this shit goes hard.

I cut Urabrask, Heretic Praetor for Laelia, the Blade Reforged

My friend brought up that I should just cut Loxodon Warhammer since I don't care as much about combat and I have a few other lifelink cards already, and equip 3 is a little high. So I cut it for Brash Taunter

I can't believe I didn't think of Brash Taunter's activated ability when you suggested the card. Really it's going to be so nasty and I can tutor it with Imperial Recruiter.

I cut Anger for Goblin Engineer, i'll live without the haste. Worse comes to worst I can equip Haunted Cloak, Swiftfoot Boots, use Fable of the Mirror-Breaker  Flip / Delina, Wild Mage to copy whatever card needs haste. Plus a few creatures already have haste like Laelia, the Blade Reforged, Captain Lannery Storm, Goldspan Dragon.

I cut Tempting Contract for Imposing Grandeur, last time I played with tempting contract everyone said no except for a hug deck every turn. Additionally on Xmage people always say no too. Imposing Grandeur can at least refill my hand in a tough situation.

I could probably cut either Rush of Blood or Fatal Frenzy however I would need to replace one with Fiendish Duo because I want both Maraxus's combat to be double damage and the flings to be double damage and I want the damage doublers to only work against my opponents and not myself.

I've thought about cutting Exhibition Magician for Wily Goblin but I do like the versatility of being able to make a citizen in case I'm up against an Aristocrat deck running group hug sac cards like Dictate of Erebos. I think it's a safer cards for sticky situations, treasures can't block either

While Lightning Greaves is very good, I don't think it's that good in fling decks. Being in a situation where Maraxus is my only creature will likely come up and then I will not be able to move Greaves off of him when I go to fling him. The same can be said for when I draw new equipment, if Maraxus is on board equipped with Greaves I cannot equip new equipment to him unless I have another creature to move Greaves onto. Shroud and Fling strategies just don't add up for me, which is why I'm stoked to have Champion's Helm

I like Laelia, the Blade Reforged maybe I will try and squeeze that in. I like that it has haste too. Imposing Grandeur seems fun too, I am still not sold on it though because I always end up holding my flings in my hand for the right moments and it's not a guarantee that I will draw a new fling effect after a wheel, that's why I prefer the exile top card of library draw effects, or the treasure making draw cards.

I think I am going to cut Urabrask, Heretic Praetor for either Laelia, the Blade Reforged or for Goblin Engineer

I like when people win with Brash Taunter and build around it, it feels out of place for this deck and theme though. I feel like if someone's going to include it they basically build around it or at least build around that theme of damaging their own creatures.

Malignus over Cavalier of Flame.

I used to have another version of this deck that had Bloodforged Battle-Axe, since it makes so many copies it can really pump Maraxus. I also used to run Neheb, the Eternal so I could Fling Maraxus pre combat, and then recast and reequip post combat with ease and without tapping lands.

That are your thoughts in adding those cards somehow?

Ideas on cuts.

3drop slot is huge. 27 3 drops. That is a third of the deck.

Rush of Blood Fatal Frenzy are one off effects I'd suggest a dmg doubler in the deck and that covers their effect and more.

Exhibition Magician for curve I'd cut it and run either Wily Goblin if you want simular effect or a fun card

Tenza, Godo's Maul good card solid include but perhaps Lightning Greaves instead or As another hasty card.

Plundering Barbarian there are better versions of cards if you want the treasure or the removal.

Outpost Siege might not be pulling enough weight here exile 1 card per turn. I doubtyou will use the other mode most games. Imposing Grandeur is a 1 time draw spell. Or Laelia, the Blade Reforged for card draw with body perhaps.

Urabrask, Heretic Praetor worth trying but I'm not a fan. Seems like it's a hate piece that puts a target on your head without doing much. I haven't play tested it but that's my thoughts.

Brash Taunter seems dec include idea

Cavalier of Flame could be plan b sac with some pumps for team. Or...Malignus good maybe fun yes.

Curve needs a peek but it'll probably perform decent!

First, the new additions. Florian, Voldaren Scion and Laelia, the Blade Reforged are both creatures that reward us for attacking with more cards to play, and don't mind being mutate targets. Orzhov Signet, Boros Signet, and Rakdos Signet are here because I needed more ramp. Showdown of the Skalds pulls double duty, giving me more cards while buffing my creatures with counters that work well with Snapdax. Manabarbs is just plain evil. I couldn't resist. Damn is versatile, wiping the board when I'm behind or picking off a select target when I'm not. Blasphemous Act is often a one mana sweeper. Enough said. Ruinous Ultimatum has a hefty mana cost, but can easily win the game on the spot. Finally, the manabase was rebalanced to better cast my spells.
