I thought about going the token route before and decided that if I wanted to go there I'd have to lean too heavily into it to make it worth it. This deck doesn't really benefit large amounts of creatures so the only usefulness they would actually get would be their ETB on my lifegain to quick boost some creatures with +1's. That being said, there are still some cards I like in the selection you gave.

Cards that depend on large amounts of mana aren't going to go far in this deck so the Secure the Wastes is out, but the Grand Crescendo has utility in at the very least being a 2 mana response to board wipes so I like it. Call the Coppercoats would make for a good 3 mana surprise at instant speed for attacks and defense.

Cat Collector and Horn of Gondor are too slow when the point is to gain life or capitalize on instances of life gain. Other cards are cheaper or better and I wouldn't want to trade them out.

Myrel, Shield of Argive is also pretty slow on buildup, especially considering I don't have a soldier deck, but she's always still a good card to keep in a back pocket for white decks. A lot of turns will go by with me not quite reaching 5 life gain in a single turn so I don't know how useful Resplendent Angel will be, but she's only 3 mana so I'll hold on to her for a while and see how it goes. I would have to be topdecking lands on an empty hand to use her 6 mana ability most likely.

Without leaning more into mass creatures Leyline of Hope doesn't provide enough for 4 mana. I'll pop off with 1 or 2 10/10's and start swinging and that +2 doesn't change much. Nyx Lotus Looks like a good choice for this deck if i need more mana for the curve though.

All in all, I love the suggestions and thank you very much for looking over my deck. It is always appreciated.

Excellent looking deck, zelous666! I really like that you chose Hopeful Initiate and Reluctant Role Model; wasn't even aware these existed and they really add to the utilities the deck can make use of.

Considering the amount of cards you use to gain life based on creature-ETB, I was wondering how you'd feel about adding some cards that generate creature tokens. These could be permanents like Cat Collector, Horn of Gondor, Myrel, Shield of Argive or Resplendent Angel. One-shot deals could be fun too. Call the Coppercoats, Grand Crescendo and Secure the Wastes for example.

Other cards I could recommend would be Nyx Lotus, because of the massive devotion this deck can conjure up. Also, Leyline of Hope to double lifegain AND provide a nice anthem to your critters could be fun. Enjoy!

I have replaced Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe, and Keranos, God of Storms with Frostcliff Siege, Myrel, Shield of Argive, and Thassa, God of the Sea, because, as great as the existing cards were, I feel that the newer cards better suit the theme of this deck.

This looks positively scary; nice job! Out of curiosity: why didn't you include Lightning Greaves/Swiftfoot Boots? Giving your voltron hexproof seems kinda logical. I see you've included Giver of Runes but not Mother of Runes; might be worth considering as your battlecruisers (including anti-venom) are your main mechanisms for winning with this deck so they need plenty of protection and a bit of redundancy doesn't hurt. Something similar could be said about Grand Abolisher and Myrel, Shield of Argive.

One more thing that's really noticeable: your deck doesn't have anything for dealing with opposing enchantments or artifacts. You could consider cards like Disenchant, Generous Gift, Heliod's Intervention and Return to Dust.

Crystal Barricade, Myrel, Shield of Argive, High Noon, and Final Showdown are all pretty new, and and have prominent Standard control decks. and would have an identity crisis if defensive strategies were reduced too much.

I don't think it's as much de-emphasizing defensive strategies as reducing stalemates. Between tournament time restrictions and the subjective "fun" factor, there's several reasons to avoid a board state where nothing happens. Going off High Noon, they're also including ways to break a deadlock within the cards that set the deadlock--Rule of Law that breaks its own parity. It should be possible to at least outline a dynamic prison deck at this point, something that keeps the board state advancing while still playing like a traditional hard control deck.

The game's not really here to model real-world military tactics. It's an entertainment product, so entertainment comes first. And as someone who likes control and prison effects, it's kind of a hard sell when the gameplay goes into stasis for more than a turn.

Thanks :) I tried running both Grand Abolisher and Voice of Victory, but my meta is such that one felt enough. I haven't tried Myrel, Shield of Argive as she's bit outside of my budget, but she would probably work real well.

Awesome combination of aggro and control, I really like what you've got going here. Have you considered either Voice of Victory and/or Myrel, Shield of Argive at any point? They offer some additional token creation, even though Adeline pumps out plenty on her own, and gives a bit of redundancy with the Grand Abolisher type of protection.

If you wanted to include either of them, I think you could cut a land or two, or some other piece of redundancy that you feel safe dipping on by one.

As an opponent, Myrel, Shield of Argive looks more suspicious, like you have combo's to protect. People might show aggression towards you more, because of that. If you don't actually have combo's to protect, I personally wouldn't want the additional aggression towards me because of it. I think that card makes you look more threatening than an Angel of Jubilation would. I'd rather play the anthem and accidentally annoy very specific opponents than look threatening in ways I'm not. But if you have a lot of soldiers in your deck otherwise, the attack trigger might become a reason to play Myrel.

Have a reason to include cards in your deck for supporting your strategy. That's almost always a better way to build your deck than discussing which card is individually more powerful. The cards need to perform well with the rest of your deck, make sure they fit. And looking scary without a plan to actually be scary is a foolish way to lose.
