Nalfeshnee

Creature — Demon

Flying

Whenever you cast a spell from exile, copy it. You may choose new targets for the copy. If it's a permanent spell, the copy gains haste and "At the beginning of the end step, sacrifice this permanent." (A copy of a permanent spell becomes a token.)

Thanks jsimp18, I struggled to find a direction for the deck but I ended up on voltron. Unfortunately I can't put Nalfeshnee, Mizzix, Replica Rider or any copy effect as all my targets are legendary. I like adding an extra layer on constraint, all the artifacts (non-creature and creature) are legendary so all of them can be the target of Lara Croft, Tomb Raider's effect. I do like the idea of casting stuff for cheap from exile so I'm considering Sage of the Beyond.

I wonder if you could add cards like Nalfeshnee, Sage of the Beyond, or even Mizzix, Replica Rider since your cards will be mainly cast from exile? Copies are always fun to me, but maybe this adds too much to the deck.

I love it! Been wanting to build a Lara Croft deck ever since I saw the secret lair.

kookoo-My PG is only ok with proxies above $10 if you have a copy of the real card and even if you do some are still not ok (IE OG duels (unless you your using your choosen color like for me i could proxy Taiga since gruul are my main colors but not any other OGs) its werid but i get it if i wanted to use some of those i should just play CEDH). ANd i don't own a real Ragavan (or a real Taiga). So he's out, as for Nalfeshnee he was already in my considerations and i want it need to figure out what to cut same for Wild-Magic Sorcerer i want it. As for Delayed Fireball it could be an ok board wipe but pretty sure its not going to cut it. and if any one can

Ok, ignore my previous comment.

After a two year hiatus I recently started to play Magic more regularly and got more experience with my Rakdos deck.

I replaced Sower of Discord with Pestilence Demon and was quite impressed how good it is against my opponents' creatures in general.

I added Chrome Mox instead of Mox Diamond because I need the land card to come back after a Rakdos attack.

Did you take a look at some of the newer demons:

  • Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos - nice cmc, could help filtering and smoothen our draws.

  • Orcus, Prince of Undeath - needs to be cast so reanimating him is not good. We need a lot of mana for his second ability because of the high cmc of the creatures in our deck. But if we have 11+ mana available (maybe from Sacrifice, Burnt Offering or Treasonous Ogre) he becomes a mass reanimation spell. The haste is also nice with our extra combat step effects.

  • Balor - some kind of disruption on a demon. I like it but don't know if his effect is strong enough to run him. Great art though!

  • Vrock - if it said "for each permanent" it would have nice synergies with a Rakdos swing but as it is it does not do enough.

  • Nalfeshnee - normally we don't cast spells from exile.

Demons I might test:

Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos and Balor are interesting but they don't really add something to our general game plan.

Orcus, Prince of Undeath could be a finisher but with the high mana requirement it is a bit situational.

I'll be adding Nalfeshnee as soon as possible. I've been looking for a good way to copy Glimpse of Tomorrow for a potential blowout with Confusion in the Ranks and this does the trick while still having good synergy with the deck in general.
