Maybeboard

The premise of the deck is simple. You use multiple effects that allow you to put extra lands into play, such as:

With a haste outlet, such as:

In the Web of War / Ogre Battledriver

Urabrask the Hidden

to kill your opponents with raging elementals.

Lotus Cobra , Rampaging Baloths and Avenger of Zendikar are there to piggyback off of the multitude of landfall triggers we should theoretically be getting every turn.

Titania, Protector of Argoth lets us get a land back when she comes in, and then gives us 5/3s whenever we crack our fetches. It's for this reason, as well as Omnath making 5/5s himself, that Where Ancients Tread is in the deck. The card is a complete workhorse. Adding in Rite of the Raging Storm from the Commander 2015 precons gave us another way to continually Lava Axe someone or something.

Greater Good and Evolutionary Leap serve as ways to Lightning Bolt something or someone, but that isn't the main focus of the deck. Making your opponents wrath the board or deal with them directly is our primary way of getting the extra points across.

Purphoros, God of the Forge and Warstorm Surge allow us to get some free damage in to things when our elementals hit the board, and Nylea, God of the Hunt is a way to give them trample so they can actually do combat damage.

Tempt with Vengeance is actually a trap whenever you play it. Always cast it for the maximum because you're going to benefit from it more than your opponents will. If you have an Ogre Battledriver or In the Web of War out, your Elementals are 3/1s. If Nylea, God of the Hunt is in play, your 3/1s have trample and can therefore profitably attack into whoever chose to take the offer. If they die, you don't care. You get to bolt them in the face a bunch.

"[In regards to another deck I built]... I'm not too worried about this deck. Whenever you play that other Omnath deck, I feel like I always need to pay attention to what you're doing."

Updates Add

While I've made additions and cuts, I haven't actually bothered to write them down in a long time. Currently, I'm considering making a few changes and was wanting some feedback:

Out:

  • Primal Growth: At the very worst, it's 3 mana put a basic into play, which isn't awful, but the only real reason it's in the deck to begin with is because the kicker cost of sacrificing a creature works so well with my commander.

  • Temple of Abandon: I don't mind the scry you get off of it, but if I had to play an ETBT land, I'd rather play Sheltered Thicket. It can either draw me a card or get fetched out by a green fetch land, which is overall just better. Having the Temple ETBT and that's the end of it is frustrating.

In:

  • Ruination / From the Ashes: For the same reason you run Back to Basics in a mono blue deck or a Blood Moon in mono red, nether of these LD spells actually bothers me that much. From the Ashes actually helps me out in certain situations, since it can fetch basics and get more landfall triggers.

  • Realms Uncharted: Since I'm running 2 Crucible of Worlds effects, going EOT tutor for 4 green fetch lands doesn't sound that bad.
