After taking a shot with black splash for Saskia the Unyielding
, I've moved to blue splash for Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis. This deck's biggest needs after testing the Saskia version were card draw and ramp. K&T check both of those boxes, despite giving opponents resources too. While I don't love that part, the deck is immensely more consistent so far with the two kings in the commander slot.
Adding blue also gives me access to some Bant and Azorius creatures that I'm looking forward to testing out. So far Empyrial Archangel, Jenara, Asura of War, and Stoic Angel are all working well. Jenara may be the first to go, as she doesn't bring a lot to the table outside of being an efficient early flier that can hold a sword and get big. Emeria Angel may be taking that slot soon. More testing needed.
One of the biggest all-stars of the equipment suite is Sword of the Animist. Being able to ramp and fix colors just by attacking is huge for getting out the big guns, not to mention activating landfall triggers.
Hope you enjoy the list. It's not meant to be super-spikey competitve, but it's fun and can make some solid plays with consistency.
