Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate

Legendary Creature — Angel Wizard

Flying

At the beginning of combat on your turn, if you have a full party, choose target nonland permanent an opponent controls. Until your next turn, it can't attack or block and its activated abilities can't be activated. (Your party consists of up to four creatures, one Cleric, Rogue, Warrior and Wizard, each.)

Sacrifice Linvala: Choose hexproof or indestructible. Creatures you control gain that ability until end of turn.

My cut would be Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate . I did do one change already and that is i took out Relic of Legends for Chromatic Lantern . I rather not have a tapped creature especially if i need blockers.

I decided I like Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim in the deck. However, I only like it for being a two-mana legendary creature whose colors are not red and green (i.e. able to be cast early and play alongside Jegantha to pump Buttercup's power to at least 6). I still don't find Elas il-Kor's abiltity to be that useful in this specific deck. For these reasons, I took it out and replaced it with Jirina, Dauntless General, which can be sacrificed to protect Buttercup and many of our other key cards since they happen to be humans: Westley, Inigo, Miracle Max, Vizzini, Odric, Jodah, Dynaheir, Reki, Jhoira, Shanid, Leinore, Kenrith, and Halana and Alena.

I also removed Ankle Shanker. While it's not bad, I don't feel it's great either as I would rather have another legendary that can come into play sooner. Its benefit was giving deathtouch to everything, but Odric does it so much better while also being tutorable. So, I decided I would rather add ways to protect Odric once we tutor for him. Jirina, named above, does this. I also added Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate since she has a very similar ability. She costs one more than Jarina but can protect all creatures (not just humans) and also provides flying for our keyword soup. Finally, I added Arwen, Mortal Queen since she can hand out an indestructible counters, which we can potentially proliferate to then hand out even more. Plus she synergizes with +1/+1 counters and can add lifelink to our keyword soup.

Of your latest suggestions, I think Anafenza, the Foremost has the most synergy due to its ability to give out +1/+1 counters, which I like alongside Miracle Max. I added that one to the maybeboard. The other cards can all do powerful things, but I would prefer them in lists that have more specific synergies with them.

There is probably a reason why no one uses Linvala, Shield of Sea Gateour that deck, but maybe you can try make it work if boardwipes are being such a problem, it can be hit with coco, fills the angel tribal and that would help against board wipes a lot. Maybe adding some Secluded Courtyards and/or Spara's Headquarters? that shouldn't screw the mana base much. It might be worth at least a test run. hahaha, 15 wins in a day? I can't remember the last time I had time to play 5 games in a row, hahaha. I wish... I am assuming I am at least a bit older than you, enjoy it while it lasts! I spent my little time to play magic at home playing modern (I like it more than historic) in Cockatrice, you can play any format there for free, check it out if you don't know it. I want to try 2 Sigarda in historic also, just to see how it goes. It says Path to Exile (000:3), but in the deck builder after searching for a card where it says "card name", you can select whatever printing of the card you want where it says "printing". Just dont hit enter when writing the cards name or it will automatically add 1 to your decklist. Instead select the name from the list so it allows you to choose printing, quantity and if it is foil or not.

Hey, good start, still have 25 cards to cut though which is a lot.

Lets start with cutting noncreature spells and then move to cutting creatures? First cuts to consider:

You can afford to cut a couple of the subpar lands for five colors. Ash Barrens is fine if you want to spend one mana to fetch a basic land, but if you have to play it as a land then it could slow down being able to cast Jodah too much. Shamanic Revelation is not good draw here for five mana. You're much more likely to have a higher power creature than the same number of creatures equal or more than the amount of power.

There's 40 creatures here, but if I was building this deck I would play only 20 of them which includes both nonLegendary Elders. Some advice to consider is choose the 20-25 best Legendary creatures and cut the others? Since you're not playing hatebears, what you're looking for with Legends are getting value from other Legends or casting spells from exile. How they support Jodah because he's the best attacking creature when you control other Legends.

Using Legendary creatures you're currently playing here's how I would break down the priority areas from Legends to keep:

Those who draw, ramp or find other Legends.

Those who make Jodah a better attacker.

Those who help for recovery from removal.

Those who are support, but don't fit into the other areas.

In place of two of the lesser Legends consider Legend tutors, Time of Need and Search for Glory?

Some Legends within the budget to consider adding:

Good luck with your deck.

Hello. I have been studying Blink Brago Control for few weeks and I have to tell that I probably have found my place in MTG - I need to build this deck. The job that you had done is so good.. I'm gonna create my deck based on yours. Why ? Because your deck is IMO lacking some essential cards and OFC an UPDATE. Yep... you really need an update. Im casual player, any feedback is very appreciated. So I encourage everybody who is reading this to a discussion.

card draw / card selection

Rhystic Study - Every blue commander should play this, why don't we try - gives consistent draw to get more cards..

Mystic Remora - more draw..

Esper Sentinel - kinda new card in magic - gets consistent draw

Teferi, Master of Time - perfect for multiplayer commander and also 1v1 - +1 in opponents' turns. Discard helps to cast Delve ability or to play Snapcaster Mage - its fine I think.

Dig Through Time - Powerful because of delve.

Search for Azcanta  Flip - enables delve cards and lets to search graveyard for more options. There are some payoffs like Snapcaster Mage, Sun Titan and more.

Blink

Luminous Broodmoth - Mass removal - even more profit! more blinking!

Soulherder - Every blink deck, please. This enables to get more blinking triggers and payoffs at the same time.

Ghostway && Eerie Interlude - Why not ?

removal

Time Wipe - powerful mass removal spell, despite Supreme Verdict or Wrath of God :)

Disallow - extended counterspell...

Trickbind - counter triggers sometimes are gold worth.

Dovin's Veto - One of the most powerful counterspells in magic. Guesss what. It's Azorius colors ;)

Path to Exile - classic

protection

Lightning Greaves - protect commander

Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate - lets sacrifice it anytime we need...

mana

Thran Dynamo - IMO really underappreciated mana base card.

updates

Phantasmal Image - worse version (but only ... ) of Clever Impersonator

Snapcaster Mage - also seems like you are missign something... Play mass removal or counterspell, or anything discarded even by Teferi, Master of Time

Teferi, Master of Time - Isn't this a must-play in an BW deck now?

Teferi, Hero of Dominaria - Isn't it too much mana?

I am not a big fan of party, but this card makes it better and more interesting than Tazri, Beacon of Unity and Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate .

Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate is a must-have four-of card. It's boardwipe protection and in the party theme, which means it helps solve party's biggest problem while also being a payoff for it. You can easily take out red to help your manabase. Black is another color you could remove, as most of the black cards in here are questionable.

Pyre of Heroes, in my eyes, doesn't really do much for this deck. You want a variety of creature types, not more of one you already have, and it's very limited in how you use it. Maybe you see this as more of a toolbox deck, where you use Pyro and Fiend Artisan to search out payoffs, but that doesn't fit best into a party shell and should be built around if that's the case.

There are a lot of cards here that aren't great value and/or don't help the party theme, enough that I don't particularly want to go over each one, so instead I'd recommend that you netdeck a little and look at some other party decks and see what they do well. I'd also suggest not having as many one-of cards and putting more of the cards you actually want for more consistency. Again, if this is a toolbox deck, it should lean into that fully. If it's a party deck, lean into that fully.
