Towashi Guide-Bot - free card draw

KRGOOD Drop resplendent angel. You dont want to exile your own graveyard angels. Instead replace her with anything else. A lost of 3-4 mana cost angels (remember giada is angel dork so a 4 can count as a 3)

breathkeeper seraph, hero of bretagard, shepherd of the cosmos, goldnight redeemer, angelic guardian, Angel of Dawn, angel of Condemnation, shattered angel, angelic curator, Archangel of Tithes.

Herald of the host, creates angels to attack other players when it attacks… more counters….

Ajani strength of the pride, get to 55 life, and for 4 mana uptick 0 exile all your opponent’s artifacts & creatures

I'm prob cutting Reaper for Lyra tho, bc i'm too stupid to go infinite and i'm a Lyra stan. :) Reaper is still one of the best angel artworks.

Which cards are u removing if u put the upgrades? I would remove like-for-like. So things like Hedron Archive for ramping swords, the lower impact angels in the 4/5 mana range for the more powerful angels. Chuck out Dawn of Hope and Eye of Vecna for Tome of Legends and Endless Atlas, since they are a better draw source.

Upgrades: --Ramp: Dowsing Dagger Sword of the Animist Sword of Hearth and Home --Search for one of the 3 above equipment ramp: Steelshaper's Gift Stoneforge Mystic --Stax (+lifegain): Authority of the Consuls Blind Obedience --Powerhouses ($$): Avacyn, Angel of Hope Linvala, Keeper of Silence Gisela, the Broken Blade Lyra Dawnbringer Archangel of Thune Resplendent Angel --Card Draw: Tome of Legends Endless Atlas Sword of Fire and Ice --White Staples: Smothering Tithe Path to Exile Land Tax

redd comments:

I think Angelic Sleuth will also be good as a source of card draw with Giada as most of your Angels will have +1/+1 counters.

Also, for budget angels, one I can recommend is Seraph of the Sword. It’s a 35 cent card that can block anything that doesn’t have trample over and over and over again, and it’s a 4-drop, so it helps lower the curve a bit.

Oh I really like Angelic Sleuth for this deck, I must have missed it during spoiler season. Easy slam dunk.

Angelic Sleuth and Sanctuary Warden both add a little card draw that is sorely needed (for people who can't afford $40 cards) and synergize very well with what you are already going to be doing with Giada. There's also the angel that reduces the cost of angels and humans based on her size and the cleric out of Kaldheim that'll help with cost reduction...

If I were building an Angel deck, auto-includes would be:

Bishop of Wings Righteous Valkyrie Lyra Dawnbringer Linvala, Keeper of Silence Serra the Benevolent Sunblast Angel Seraph Sanctuary Mind Stone Angel of Invention Angel of the Ruins Valkyrie Harbinger Angel of the Dire Hour Angel of Jubilation Angelic Skirmisher Archangel of Thune Archangel of Tithes Avacyn, Angel of Hope Militant Angel

This is a good list. I’d add a few: Resplendent Angel, Starnhein Unleashed, The Book of Exalted Deeds, Baneslayer Angel, Gisela, the Broken Blade

Really anything that is a ‘good value’ Angel or things that generate lots of Angel tokens are going to see minor to moderate increase in prices.

Even Elspeth Resplendent and Luxior, Gaida’s Gift will have synergy here.

As an interesting speculation and a small dose of theorycrafting here, Mirror Box may yield some really fun results with Giada, Font of Hope and angels in general in the 60 card formats.

Resplendent Angel Starnhein Unleashed The Book of Exalted Deeds Baneslayer Angel Gisela, the Broken Blade Elspeth Resplendent Luxior, Giada's Gift Mirror Box Giada, Font of Hope

Definitely add Luminarch Ascension to the list of auto includes. Easy to turn on in edh and works really well with giada caring about having a lot of angels

Angel of Vitality and Youthful Valkyrie (a shakier print, and sees play in standard still) are both somewhat taut already and could be really solid includes as well

angel of vitality youthful Valkyrie

if this were 3-4 years in the future I could see some of the more unique angel mythics like Angel of Destiny or Book of Exalted Deeds jumping, but they're still in standard so I expect no movements besides maybe a couple high-entry cards like Resplendent Angel going up a few dollars.

Angel of Destiny The Book of Exalted Deeds Resplendent Angel

Most of the actual angel cards aren't particularly too expensive with a few outliers (Resplendent Angel and Archangel of Thune).

In terms of cheaper angels at the moment, I'd say that Righteous Valkyrie is the safest bet as it is generically good in any lifegain decks, and also synergizes with cleric tribal (which appears to be quite popular in EDH).

Resplendent Angel Archangel of Thune Righteous Valkyrie

Mono white is a big downside. I think I’d prefer this in the 99 of something like Shalai

This would actually work pretty great because of green you can add cards like Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, Anointed Procession, etc

Shalai, Voice of Plenty Anointed Procession Doubling Season (g) Parallel Lives (g)

Reserved list angels could spike some more as people wanna build white angel edh.. [radiant archangel]?

Angels, like demons and dragons, are powerful but overall not terribly synergistic even after pushing out a little bit of tribal support in recent years' sets. They work best as standalone finishers or board-securing pieces as a payoff, not as cogs in a tribal machine.

  1. Average mana cost is just too high. This totally messes up the curve in the color that's already the worst at getting ahead on mana. This makes Angels stronger by themselves and weaker when they're together because they destroy your curve.

  2. Angels' unifying themes are generally about life gain, which I like when it bounces life gain into another strategy like +1 counters but life gain on its own is overall not a powerful strategy and it's not a very inspiring theme. The Witherbloom cards from Strixhaven took this strategy in a more interesting direction anyway.

  3. Generally the Timmy types that are going to be attracted to playing a bunch of big hitters, are probably more interested in dragons, demons, or even dinosaurs, before they would pick angels, and Giada doesn't change that.

================================ https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/wdh86v/is_there_any_card_that_reduces_the_costs_of_angels/

Is there any card that reduces the costs of angels?

Starnheim Aspirant is fantastic.

My advice would be to look more into effective mana ramp rather than mana reductions.

Angels are usually expensive to cast. This means that you’re usually only casting one angel per turn. Which means your mana reducer is only reducing a spell once.

Mana ramp ( Burnished Hart, Thran Dynamo, Sol Ring etc) will help you cast all your spells, not just angels. A mix is good too!

Pearl Medallion seems like it would be an option, but it is fairly expensive.

Semblance Anvil, although it's probably not an amazing option.

Oketra's Monument or Cloud Key will reduce by 1, monument gets you a dude too.

Herald's horn and Urza's incubator are too expensive for me.

Try Herald of War (great for angels and humans) Or any card that reduces white casting costs

I really enjoy the fact that this search found Morophon, the Boundless even though he doesn't mention angels specifically, because "changeling" includes the word.

Not sure why no one recommended Archaeomancer's Map but it does wonders if you're going against any green decks that have ramp in them, you'll always keep up with your land.

Oketra's Monument also works but only for white Hazoret's Monument is the red version.
