Alesha competitive combo

Commander / EDH

ColbyEisbrenner

This Is my own take on a CEDH Deck, and should be played with people who are okay with you winning extremely early. The Primary focus of this deck is to combo out as quickly as possible! The deck has the tool's to go off as early as turn one, but typically goes off turns 3-5. While I don't think this deck is tier 1, I've had a reasonably good amount of success with it!

"But why? It doesn't even have blue!"

Honestly, I think this works to it's advantage... people don't often assume much out of the little "Mardu attack machine" so it often goes under the radar. But it's key to success is the sheer amount of combo's you can force through, and Alesha herself. With 30+ unique card infinite combo's, Opponent's will often be left struggling to figure out what pieces matter, and what combo you're trying to go for. Secondly, Alesha's un-counterable reanimation ability (along with apprentice, and doomed necromancer's) is blue deck's worst nightmare! . People will rarely counter spell's that don't win you the game, so often times a resolved Alesha is game over!

"but isn't it weak to graveyard hate?"

Honestly, yes, but it's not always game-breaking. There are several combo's in the deck that don't rely on the graveyard to go off, they're just not as easily accessible. for example, (kiki + Bell-ringer), (kiki * goblin sharpshooter + Thornbite staff), (Bell-ringer + splinter twin), (Goblin Sharpshooter + Splinter twin + sac outlet), ect.

Over all, I think the deck is somewhere around tier 1.5 or 2, but it's very well positioned against control, stax, and combo control. It's worst match ups are definitely other fast combo decks. This build of Alesha only has a few hate cards, and is a little slower than some of the fastest decks in the format, but it makes up for some of it's shortcoming's in it's resiliency.

Now, for as for a turn 1 win, there are actually several hands that do it, but the simplest one (and your best buried alive pile) is this: Cards in hand:-land that taps for black-Buried Alive-Reanimate (or another reanimate spell, depending on the amount of ramp you have)-dark ritual-Chrome mox, and spell, Mox diamond and Land, mana vault, mana crypt, sol ring, lotus petal, or simian spirit guide.the rest of the hand doesn't matter. How it works: with the mana accelerator's you should have at least 4 mana, two of it black. Buried alive Kiki-Jiki, Village Bell-ringer, and Karmic Guide. cast reanimate on Karmic Guide, bringing back Kiki-Jiki. Tap Kiki-Jiki to make a copy of Karmic guide, bringing back Bell-Ringer, which will untap Kiki, allowing you to make infinite attackers!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my deck!
