Gitrog Dredge

Deck by Joseph of Casually Competitive

Goal of the deck

The goal of the deck is to ramp quickly and tutor out the pieces needed to assemble the following combo. This deck runs both titans, so any reference to Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre can be replaced with Kozilek, Butcher of Truth

The Combo

Prerequisites

Drawing your library

  1. Discard Dakmor Salvage, Dredge 2. If one of the 2 is a land get a The Gitrog Monster draw trigger
  2. In response to a draw trigger discard Dakmor Salvage, dredging again
  3. Stack draw triggers until Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre or Gaea's Blessing hits the graveyard, order the triggers to shuffle first (before the draw triggers)
  4. Repeat this process until there are enough draw triggers to draw your library
  5. Resolve all the triggers to end the loop with your library in your hand

Looping

  1. Play mana generator (Lotus Petal)
  2. Discard a land, put a The Gitrog Monster draw trigger on the stack
  3. In response, discard Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and resolve the shuffle trigger first
  4. In response to the draw trigger, discard and dredge Dakmor Salvage to put another Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre shuffle and The Gitrog Monster draw trigger on the stack (the 2 cards in the library at this time were the discarded land and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre)
  5. Repeat this process once more but don't resolve the Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre trigger get, and put the third draw trigger on the stack
  6. Sacrifice Lotus Petal or cast the mana generator (Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, etc)
  7. Resolve the Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre trigger to shuffle 3 cards into your library
  8. Resolve all 3 draw triggers with the end state the same as the first step but with 1 mana floating
  9. Once infinite mana is generated, use the same loop to cast the kill spell (Ebony Charm, Geth's Verdict, Praetor's Grasp)
