Welcome to my personal decklist for Tayam, Luminous Enigma, designed for a cEDH pod. I'm someone who primarily enjoys high-powered casual games, which you can see by checking out my other decks. This is my first deck actually designed for cEDH play and aspired by the experts rather than my own brainstorming.

So why do I wish to play Tayam, Luminous Enigma? What makes him so interesting to me, especially in a cEDH environment? Well, at heart, Im someone who dislikes the playstyle of most {U} cards and generally {U}. I always seem to gravitate towards creature-heavy styles & love to play stax to prevent my opponents from doing crazy stuff that allows them to avoid the impact of my creatures. This is where the {G}{WB} colors truly shine. We have access to the best hatebears in the format to slow down our opponents and stop spell-based combos along with some of the best utility creatures. Tayam is one of the best stax commanders in cEDH due to its ability to work around all of them with exception to GY hate and ETB hate slows us down such as a Hushbringer. The powerful stax effect being Rule of Law & it's creature-based cousins. Since we base playing our cards through an activation ability, RoL effects are pure upside.

You may notice that theres no card draw outside of Esper Sentinel & The One Ring. thats because our card draw engine is Tayam, Luminous Enigma himself - abusing his activated ability to Hell & back, making this deck very graveyard-centric. While vulnerable to things such as Dauthi Voidwalker & Rest in Peace, the instant speed nature of abusing Tayam's ability allows us to compete with the {U} cEDH decks of the format. This also means that this deck is incredibly mana-intensive, as we essentially convert our mana production into cards.

Undying creatures: Young Wolf / Strangleroot Geist

Mana converters: Cryptolith Rite / Rishkar, Peema Renegade

Devoted Druid generates infinite mana & infinite counters for Tayam activations if we can get its toughness above 4. We do this with Centaur Garden or Hashep Oasis - Shield Mate is another option.

Ashnod's Altar + Weaponcraft Enthusiast + {3} + Tayam, Luminous Enigma = {INFINITY} Tayam activations

Undying Loop: To begin the Loop you need access to {1} outside of your Undying Creature.

Step 1. You have all 3 pieces. The Undying creature (preferably Strangleroot Geist for its natural haste), a Sacrifice Outlet, mana converter, and you have {1}

step 2. You tap undying for 1 {G}, sacrifice it. Undying ability resolves and you get 3 counters (1 on sac outlet & the +1/+1 and vigilance counter on undying). Then you tap Undying again. Now you have gained 2 {G} and you have the {1}.

Step 3. You now activate Tayam, holding priority. Sacrifing Undying, undying ability resolves. Tap Undying for {G}(Note: Consider this as the new {1}).

Step 4. You sacrifice Undying again, there is no undying ability due to it having a +1/+1 counter. Now your Tayam activation resolves. You return the Undying creature.

Step 5. Note: Now you are at the same point as step 1. With an additional counter and you've milled 3. Repeat steps 1-4 until you've milled your library.

Step 6. Activate tayam and Take Lion's Eye Diamond and sacrifice it to gain {3}. now repeat steps 1-4 except replace step 3 with step 6. Netting infinite mana and counters.
