Once upon a time, I was playing Jhoira of the Ghitu against a Damia Landfall deck and I had the thought that the Damia deck was putting out so much land, it could hard cast all the things my Jhoira could suspend. I decided to meld the two in my head, but ran into a problem: I have this unhealthy obsession with New Phyrexia and I really wanted to run Elesh Norn in particular in the deck. The obvious solution was to pull a Josh Lee Kwai and pick a 5 color commander, with some tutors and draw to pull up the real commander, Damia. Jodah, Golos, or Ramos would probably make better commanders, but I am really partial to The Child. As soon as I can, I will switch it out with Garth One-Eyed.

Really, I see this as the ultimate Timmy deck. The whole goal of the deck is to just play magic. Do the mtg things. Play lots of lands, draw lots of cards, cast some big spells, and turn some scary creatures sideways. I think this just does it a little better than a bunch of forests and some dinos and hydras.
