Krosan Wayfarer

Creature — Human Druid

Sacrifice Krosan Wayfarer: You may put a land card from your hand into play.

Update:

OUT:

  • Sol Ring
  • Goblin Engineer (It does not really synergize with the combo, it was in to find Zuran Orb but I kind of have enough ways to find it and not enough artifacts to sacrifice.)
  • Roil Elemental (It was a cute card but I had to cut one more card for some more consistency and with the amount of tutors I play generally I will always rather have Tatyova or Gitrog Monster which are both tutorable by Bring to Light.)
  • Pact of Negation (Pact of Negation is kind of an expensive card and I think I like Pyroblast more, it's mainly to combat counterspells on the second sunrise anyway and Pyroblast has some added utility to it which I think makes it better.)
  • Mana Vault
  • Overgrown Tomb (Decided I want to run just 3 shock lands, this one might get back into the deck but I opted for others first.)
  • Mox Diamond
  • Mana Crypt
  • Krark-Clan Ironworks (Decided to get rid of the KCI saccing mana rocks before second sunrise plan, it was too convoluted and I want to go for a more land centric deck.)
  • Valakut Exploration (This was also one of my other win conditions, and I liked Roil Elemental first above this but decided to cut both.)
  • Izzet Chronarch (Got replaced by Timeless Witness.)

IN:

  • Krosan Wayfarer (Has some early game utility while still being excellend in the Combo.)
  • Pyroblast
  • Cosmic Intervention (I somehow overlooked this card but I am really excited to add this as an early game play for value.)
  • Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath (Uro is already an insane card, it sacrifices itself which is great, it's basically a recurrable Explore with the added bonus of sometimes being a powerful body, I think it will work excellend in the deck.)
  • Farseek
  • Explore (Both replace my mana rocks for some early mana ramp.)
  • Breeding Pool
  • Temple Garden
  • Hallowed Fountain
  • Timeless Witness
  • Unbridled Growth (Fixes mana and sacrifices for a card, the other candidate was chromatic star which would also be good but I think Unbridled will have more value as you don't need to sacrifice it to gain it's fixing effect.)

I decided to cut my mana rocks that don't provide a color except for when they have a way to sacrifice themself which also made me cut my KCI from the deck.

Other Ideas: + Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle + Vesuva + Prismatic Omen

So I loved your suggestions but it was hard to find cards to swap them with. I Swapped Krosan Wayfarer for Springbloom Druid and I rlly wanted to add Thrashing Brontodon but I couldn't find something to swap it with. So I turned to my ramp and considered swapping in Neverwinter Dryad for Farhaven Elf but Farhaven Elf requires less mana to execute once you get the Meren recursion going so I looked away from it. With the problems I alr had with the swapping in and out cards I had to leave Manglehorn out because it didn't have as much to offer as the other things you had to offer. I put the other three is the MB so I don't forget them tho

Awesome deck!

Many people (like me) play Meren in more expensive / tryhard ways but I love to see people offering feedback for more budget friendly versions, so knew players or just people in casual enviroments can play with her too.

Some ideas: Neverwinter Dryad and Krosan Wayfarer (to have more ramp-sacrifice creatures like sakura tribe elder) Manglehorn and Thrashing Brontodon to artifact hate.

SynergyBuild on Yeva Emergence Ashaya (Yea cEDH)

jaymc1130 that's the wrong approach to take to both this deck and yisan. Neither list is attempting to turbo out ashaya, Yisan is a stax deck first and foremost, attempting to abuse yisan to make value plays that disadvantage opponents (activating it to bring in a Revoker on Najeela before it combos off or Collector ouphe or rec sage)

This deck is instead a counter list, for a specific metagame where the predominant deck is turbo naus/farm. These lists cannot handle a resolved Heartwood Storyteller, or often even a Glademuse, as these effects give the table too much interaction to go off with. Pairing Yeva with an Emergence Zone package of Crop Rotation and Krosan Wayfarer allows our tech a much easier win at instant speed when it is most optimal. Yisan is sadly not equipped to deal with farm in this method, and so Yeva absolutely dominates with such an inbred community of naus lists.

That being said yeah at turboing ashaya out or in a balanced meta Yisan is favored.

I love this Ape tribal deck!

My only criticism is that you don't have enough human fodder for Kogla, the Titan Ape since he's one of your main forms of removal in your deck. You've only got Eternal Witness.

I was thinking maybe you could replace your Llanowar Tribe with Karametra's Acolyte or Citanul Hierophants ? Not only do they offer the potential for much more green mana per tap than the Tribe, they also are humans for Kogla to toss back.

Elfhame Druid could be replaced with Somberwald Sage which would actually net you 1 more mana for casting Kogla and 2 more mana all the time for other creatures.

You could also replace Sakura-Tribe Elder with Diligent Farmhand . While not as good as a one-off as the Elder it does fill the same chump block and sac for a land niche, it counts as an extra pump for the jank pump spell Muscle Burst which is mega flavor, and is a human for Kogla to toss. There's also Krosan Wayfarer which has the downside of only getting a land from hand rather than tutor or Primal Druid which has to die from the combat but at least lets you tutor.

I know you are probably using Llanowar Elves for an early play and ramp, but if you didn't need that extra (G) per tap you could replace it with Drumhunter which gives you needed card draw, a colorless mana per tap, and is a human for Kogla to toss. Some less good options but still ok since they're lower CMC than Drumhunter is Werebear , Honored Hierarch , Harvester Druid , Sylvok Explorer , or Humble Naturalist .

If you need a ramp creature to combo off with look no further than Hope Tender , Juniper Order Druid , Ley Druid , or Krosan Restorer to untap a land that produces big mana or Hidden Herbalists which would actually combo off of Kogla's tossback if you have something that could benefit from ETB's.

There's also Setessan Petitioner which would allow you repeated lifegain on ETB if you needed it.

Hi, why dont you use Walking Ballista ?

I still see Krosan Wayfarer in the list and could you justify the new aditions from Strixhaven I honestly dont understand why you added cards with high CMC.

- Deflecting Swat

Often if I have my commander on the stack, I am winning the game and cant use this to protect casting Korvold.

- Karplusan Forest

Less red prevalence.

+ Necropotence

Third Naus, I didn't include it because I couldnt find my promo lol and EOT is rough. Its functioning as a CA engine as often as a wincon tbh. Probably not worth the changes.

+ Llanowar Wastes

Higher black prevalence.

Considering:

Emergence Zone . With Krosan Wayfarer and Crop Rotation , it may be worthwhile to include EZ. Im not looking forward to less colored mana in my starting hands though.
