Is this deck for you?

-

Do you like:

a) Only doing 10 damage in a 40 life format

b) Taking infinite turns with the Swag Master himself

c) Making people never play at your local card shop ever again

Then this deck list is most certainly for you

-

Do not play this list if:

a) Your meta is purely casual

b) Actually want to do 40 damage

c) You want friends

If any of those apply then this deck is probably not for you

-

Keep in mind this is my deck and it is adjusted to my meta so you can edit accordingly to how your local meta is but the deck does have a high win rate at my current meta (my meta is all combo based decks with a lot of counters and removal) and works fine and is very consistent. I am yet to not top 5 every Friday and Sunday. This is purely a combo based deck as Sage of Hours as its priority win condition, infect can be just a distraction while they waste all their removal and counters on them or else they just lose to infect.

The deck works best in 1v1s and 2v2s. I would stay away from pods with this deck considering most people get triggered at the sight of the keyword "infect" then you'll be seen as a threat almost instantly and sooner than you think you're playing archenemy.

Win conditions - Sage of Hours, Infect, or Cephalid Constable. (varies depending on the match up or starting hand)

Simplified way to play the deck - You almost always want to ditch hands with no mana dorks, the deck has a low win percentage not playing Ezuri, Claw of Progress on turn 2 or 3, you want to be fast as possible while preventing your opponent to answer what you're throwing at them. Now the deck is mainly an aggressive strategy, with blue built as a support color mainly for the deck to say no, prevent removal, or stop combos. Just watch for Supreme Verdict that card will ruin your day for sure I usually never over commit unless I have 2 counter spells or Glen Elendra Archmage.

A lot of the cards in the deck are just tools to get you out of sticky situations/infinite combos, gaining card advantage, to gain you board tempo, or just to tutor out any situational card to deal with specific cards on board while getting an xp counter at the same time to just to build up to you getting to play Sage of Hours safely without any problems occurring (tutoring out Dosan the Falling Leaf then playing Sage of Hours is one of the safest ways to win). Assume that losing Sage to the exile pile is basically losing the game unless you are planning on killing them with infect or Cephalid Constable. Even losing Sage of Hours to the graveyard can be troublesome. If anyone has any questions or any sugestions make sure to leave them in the comments below I'll get back to you almost instantly since I'm always updating this deck list.

Gunna be honest I was excited for this set and saw lots of potential for cards to make the cut in Ezuri.

so here's what we added:

+1 Hope of Ghirapur - a second Dosan that can be found by trinket mage, YES PLEASE.

+1 Rishkar, Peema Renegade - makes himself and ezuri a dork and anything else with a counter on it a dork, speed is key here don't forget.

+1 Heroic Intervention - simple enough protection from removal, we needed this BADLY thank you wizards.

+1 Lifecrafter's Bestiary - a little slow but simply being able to play our low cost creatures and pay a green to draw a card seems good to me, not sure about this one it needs more testing to really see how it plays.

what got cut:

-1 Magus of the Vineyard - Found out giving your opponent 2 colorless mana just for a turn 2 Ezuri isn't worth it, we can wait until turn 3

-1 Joraga Treespeaker - a really slow turn one dork we don't need nor want this anymore.

-1 Jace, the Mind Sculptor - a 4 mana brainstorm/flick a creature back to their hand then dies the next turn, nuff said.

-1 Harbinger of the Tides - slow and situational simply not good enough to make the cut.

what I need to obtain to try:

  • Metallic Mimic - naming wizards, sounds really really good. if you have it cut Caustic Caterpillar
