My local meta was lacking a blue player and combo decks were getting a little out of hand with no-one keeping them in check. We are not particularly competitive but games were becoming a little stale when the combo player would just win on turn 4 or 5. I wanted to build something that could incorporate a number of counters as well as something combo based, as my other deck focuses on creatures / board building & protecting my stuff.

I have tried several iterations of this deck before settling on the current build. I decided to focus mainly on combos featuring Breya but felt the inclusion of a couple of other non-Breya combos was important. I didn't want this deck to be a one trick pony.

Main combos; Breya, Etherium Shaper + Nim Deathmantle, Breya, Etherium Shaper + Eldrazi Displacer, Including a source of mana such as Ashnod's Altar, Krark-Clan Ironworks or Grand Architect allows Breya to create enough thopters and generate enough mana to eliminate each opponent with her own effect. Grand Architect also combos with Pili-Pala to create infinite coloured mana. The other infinite mana combo included is Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth. The infinite mana can then be filtered into Walking Ballista or Fireball.

Non-Breya Combos; Mycosynth Lattice combos with Hellkite Tyrant, Vandalblast and Dack Fayden. These allow you to steal or destroy a large amount of your opponents stuff and if you happen to have 20 artifacts at the beginnning of your upkeep, Hellkite Tyrant will win you the game.

Time Sieve + Thopter Assembly will give you infinite turns, providing you don't have any other thopters in play.

Ashnod's Altar or Krark-Clan Ironworks + Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek will result in infinite colourless mana and infinite thopter tokens. These can be combined with Walking Ballista or Fireball to win the game, or with Time Sieve to generate infinite turns.

Isochron Scepter Targets; Enlightended Tutor - Tutors any key artifact to complete a combo. Counterspell, Swan Song, Arcane Denial, Brainstorm, Boomerang, Snap, Dramatic Reversal - Can generate infinite mana if you control enough mana rocks (ie will tap to produce more than 2 mana), Vampiric Tutor - Tutors for anything. Muddle the Mixture, Mana Drain, Cyclonic Rift, Flusterstorm.
