Hello I am GrixisLich and this is my first deck here.

Divergent Nauseam is a cEdh deck focussed in a fast combo with Divergent Transformations in a Ad Nauseam shell. The commanders Akiri, Line-Slinger and Silas Renn, Seeker Adept were chosen mainly because of the color combination and the low cmc cost. The only other reason to choose those two as the commanders is to not attract many attention (being a rogue deck) to your side until it is too late.

As a cEdh deck the main objective is to win. Win faster, with consistency and don`t leave a gap to your opponents.

Two words describe this deck: Greed and Opportunist

When playing it will be all-in or nothing, there is no middle ground. This deck will became pretty slow if you put more stax or control cards, so it is not recommended to people that like those archetypes.

This deck is centered in 2 cards Divergent Transformations and Ad Nauseam , allowing a certain flexibility in 2 different setups.

Divergent Setup

Divergent Transformations is the star of the deck. Being easily mistaken as a removal this combo enabler shows its power with a powerful instant speed win condition. By exiling our own 2 commanders we will reveal our deck until 2 more creatures. Since we only have two others creature it is possible to assemble our win cons.

This setup allow a instant speed win. As the Divergent Transformations resolves and Laboratory Maniac and Spellseeker enter the battlefield you will search for Demonic Consultation . As you cast it you will name an random card that is not in the deck (like Doomsday ) and exile your entire deck and winning by the next draw.

This combo will be effective if used in a end-step just before our turn or by using a cantrip, never in a situation that we will not be able to do the last draw, because in the worst case scenario our opponents will remove our Laboratory Maniac and we will basically lose.

It is possible to use other 2 creature cards combo however most of them are quietly costly if not assembled by Divergent Transformations , like Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Zealous Conscripts being almost impossible to cast if drawn.

The ones that I recommend other than the pair lab maniac and spellseeker are Notion Thief and Whirlpool Warrior . Being good and castable cards in isolation in the combo it will allow you to draw 20 to 30 cards and will remove the hand of all your opponents. Even if not being a determinant win-con it is comparable to an Ad Nauseam without the life loss.

Ad Nauseam Setup

Ad Nauseam is one of the most vile, greed, busted and beautiful card in all Edh. In the right deck it is possible to draw obscene amounts of cards paying and a bit of life. With our deck with a mana curve of mostly in range of 0 to 3 once we cast it we will stop only when we have:

  • Divergent Transformations
  • Ad Nauseam used as a tutor for the first combo set up.

  • Paradox Engine
  • Sensei's Divining Top
  • Voltaic Key
  • First you cast Paradox Engine . Generate tons of mana with your mana rocks, cast Sensei's Divining Top . Generate tons of mana with your mana rocks again, cast Voltaic Key . Now you tap Sensei's Divining Top answer the trigger with Voltaic Key untapping Sensei's Divining Top and taping it again. So we will put the Sensei's Divining Top on the top of the library an will draw two cards. By repeating this process we can draw as many cards as we want. Finish it using Laboratory Maniac or storming with Aetherflux Reservoir .

Some times it won't be possible to assemble all the combo cards, but we will have enough tutors to make it done.

  • Be careful with the amount of life you possess when casting Ad Nauseam .
  • If you use Ad Nauseam + Angel's Grace you can draw the entire deck without dying
  • Silence can be used as an disrupt or to protect the combo.
  • The mana base can be improved.
