Here's my take on Galea, Kindler of Hope.

I'm a fan of toolbox decks, especially when it comes to equipments. Galea seems to satisfy that craving in a very "tunnel-vision" sort of way. I was so drawn towards this commander, that it made me forget about my basis towards Voltron strategies and decided to give the build a shot.

There are no fancy instant win combos, you just do it through the most under-rated step, the Combat phase. Loading up on powerful equipments while trying to stay as safe as possible from the inevitable sleuth of removal that will be heading our way.

I decided to put a heavy focus on abusing Galea's top deck ability to be able to consistently draw cards off top and get immediate value from them. Card-draw is essential, and there is never enough of it.

Hope you enjoy the build, I'll be having fun trying to swing in my 14/14 double strike commander with Annihilator 2 :)

Oh, btw, there is a way you can get a OTK on all three opponents, but it does require a large amount of setup. The process could be streamlined so that the OTK can be more consistent, but it feels strong enough as is. Let me know if you can figure it out, I don't want to spoil all the fun.

10/6/2022: I'm going to try to get some IRL games in the next couple of weeks to see how it performs and also gauge the salt levels. Might have to cut down on the 47 equipment/auras, or at least replace some redundant effects (maybe some of the card draw equipments) for different utility, mainly removal. I'll update once I've had some game experience with it.

Wow! What a powerhouse of a deck, honestly. Yes, it has all the weaknesses of your typical voltron deck, but it feels extremely resilient and powerful. Edict effects are the main source of pain, but the suite of equipments plus the Sigarda, Host of Herons makes me feel ok about it (I dont want a tier 0 level deck either).

Surestrike Trident + Blackblade Reforged let's me kill two opponents in one turn fairly reliably once I get into the mid-game. Add Finest Hour into the mix and you're looking at a pretty crazy turn. Robe of Stars + Winged Boots + Simic Charm + Heroic Intervention + Teferi's Protection pretty much keeps you in the game, and it seems the card-draw capabilities are there such that you should draw a protection spell before you need it.

The deck feels very fun and powerful, without seeming unfair, imo. I'll be updating the deck for a while as new sets come out, but it would have to be "strict" upgrades, maybe some more expensive mana bases (mostly replacing the conditional tap duel lands), but I guess we'll see how all that unfolds considering the environment we find ourselves in (30th anniversary shit-storm).

Cheers!
