Mantle of the Ancients

Enchantment — Aura

Enchant creature you control

When Mantle of the Ancients enters the battlefield, return any number of target Aura and/or Equipment cards from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to enchanted creature.

Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 for each Aura and Equipment attached to it.

The line between equipment and creatures is a hard thing to get right i think it should always be skewed more towards creatures which i think looks decent here but be careful about this number!

I would encourage you to play more creatures/ equipment that get buffed when you get multiple equipment on it. Ideas being Goblin Gaveleer , Champion of the Flame , Thran Power Suit these may not look impressive but 1+ equipment and they go big. Newer card I have tried Kellan, the Fae-Blooded is probably good but slow.

When building your sideboard i would look at protection/ recursion/ meta based archetype hate. Think Mantle of the Ancients , Blacksmith's Skill , Unlicensed Hearse , Crumble to Dust , maybe look at what other people are playing with a junk sideboard full of removal and graveyard hate for a few times then see what you need from there.

Obligatory simple answer is look at what equipment decks are currently doing good in modern. Stoneblade decks and hammer time. Both use Stoneforge Mystic to find and put in Kaldra Compleat for a quick kill. Stone blade is a midrange tempo shell to support what your doing. The hammer time deck has a plan A combo of putting Colossus Hammer on a creature and swinging for lethal in 1 to 2 turns.

Coward_Token - As far as the reprints go, nothing on the level of The Chain Veil in Commander Masters, though if this set came out before Commander Masters, Kindred Dominance would've been up there, but there are some solid ones:

Umbra Mystic (first reprint besides the list), Utopia Sprawl, Bear Umbra, Mantle of the Ancients, and Hall of Heliod's Generosity headline the enchantment deck.

Kindred Dominance, Glen Elendra Archmage, Brazen Borrower, and Scion of Oona headline the faerie deck.

Nothing spectacular, but a decent bunch of reprints none-the-less.

punkmaster95 Well, in my mind its to have an early game threat, of course that will make you the target. I mostly added her so that you get a bunch of enchantments out early, so even if your opponents deal with her, all those auras will be in graveyard, so when Uril is finally out, I would be able to cast either Resurgent Belief or Mantle of the Ancients to attach all of them to Uril. In a game i was playing with my family, a family member managed to play Light-paws, and cast one of the cartouches, and well by his 5th or 6th turn Light-paws was a 32/30something creature lol. If you have any suggestions let me hear em. Budget is around 450. Thanks you.

Nice! Eight-and-a-Half-Tails however, I'm not sure what your plan is with this card, but be aware that all attached auras will fall off if you target Light-Paws, since all auras are white. Mask of Law and Grace & Shield of Duty and Reason can be useful for protection, or a mid to late game Spectra Ward once Light-Paws is up to strength and has a double strike effect from Battle Mastery / Duelist's Heritage, Spectra Ward shuts the door for new auras to attach, but the already attached auras remain on Light-Paws. Mantle of the Ancients is good recursion and also boosts Light-Paws.

If you play in multiplayer games Chandra's Ignition and Fiendlash are really good. Also Mantle of the Ancients is good for getting equipment and auras back from the graveyard.

This deck looks fun. I’ve found Fiendlash and Chandra's Ignition are really good if you play in multiplayer games. Also Mantle of the Ancients is a cool way to get stuff back from your graveyard.

Hey, for a first Commander deck very nice budget version of Tuvasa.

Robe of Stars is from new Aura of Courage Commander precon and it's powerful repeatable protection for Tuvasa and all auras that are attached to her. Mantle of the Ancients is also in that precon and it's a way to reanimate all your auras while also pumping Tuvasa. Open the Armory is a budget aura tutor or it can could get Robe. Moon-Blessed Cleric is a budget enchantment tutor from Adventures of Forgotten Realms.

Setessan Champion is an upgrade for an enchantress. Alpha Authority can protect Tuvasa from opponents targeting with hexproof, but still lets you target her to keep enchanting her and it also gives menace which combined with how big Tuvasa can get is good evasion for her. Favor of the Overbeing gives flying evasion and vigilance letting Tuvasa be an attacker as well as a blocker. Seal of Primordium is an upgrade for Reclamation Sage since it's an enchantment that you can sac right away or at instant speed later.

Consider some budget manabase improvements? The manabase looks neglected compared to the rest of your deck. 26 basic lands is a lot for three colors and except for Command Tower all the other dual lands here ETB tapped. Some lands to consider adding in place of some basic lands, Tranquil Expanse, Woodland Stream and Meandering River:

The Tango lands and Reveal lands have interaction with basic lands to ETB untapped. Could also consider cutting a few lands in place of some more ramp/color fixing that has interaction with Tuvasa. Wild Growth, Abundant Growth and Wolfwillow Haven.

Good luck with your deck.

Mantle of the Ancients should be auto-include, new card that comes in the Galea precon deck, a cheaper and better (in this context) Open the Vaults
