I got into Magic during the Tempest Block, so naturally, Slivers are near and dear to my heart. If Spikes had taken off as a tribe the way Slivers did I would have probably chosen them for a tribal deck instead because, well, Spike Weaver <3

If you're playing with vets, you'll usually hear moans and groans as soon as they see a Sliver commander hit the table. They will be keeping a close eye on you in the event you're getting dangerously close to comboing out, and let's face it, while Slivers are versatile, your main objective should be to combo off or you just aren't playing Slivers right.

Sliver Overlord is the ideal choice compared to Sliver Queen or Sliver Legion when going for the combo win. There are a few valid reasons to run the Queen as your commander, one of them being that she's one of your main combo pieces and being able to cast her at will is paramount to a win. Secondly, her being an intergal part of your combo also makes her a juicy target for permanent removal and if you lose her, your games are a little tougher to pull out. Even still, the Overlord remains a better choice, imo. He just brings a higher degree of versatility for Slivers and opens up various routes of play on the fly depending on the board situation.
