Landfall is a dynamic that's been around for a while, and there's more than enough of it to build a Commander deck around it. But who might be the best Commander? Mina and Denn, Wildborn get my vote. It helps that green and red have some of the most interesting and abusive Landfall effects, but there's more to this choice than mere colour identity.

Sure, this deck is all about Landfall effects, obviously (Rampaging Baloths, Omnath, Locus of Rage, Avenger of Zendikar, Lotus Cobra), but all that's for nothing if it doesn't make a lot of land actually fall, and often. The answer to that is twofold :

A) Land fetchers. Animist's Awakening, Cultivate, Journey of Discovery and the like. These are always good in any green deck, but they're positively devastating when there's a bunch of Landfall effects in play.

B) Land bouncers. Who needs extra lands when you can just keep putting the same ones in play over and over again? The best strategies in MTG revolve around turning a negative cost (paid to achieve a positive effect) into a positive cost! That way, both the cost AND the resulting effect are positive! Bouncing a land is generally considered a bad thing that slows your ramp, but in this deck it's positively amazing! You WANT to put lands back in your hand so you can guarantee you'll have at least one or two Landfall occurrences every turn. This is the only deck in which I would even consider using such things as Barrel Down Sokenzan and Jungle Basin. And this is why Mina and Denn, Wildborn are so amazing: they enable land-bouncing, AND allow for an extra Land drop, AND (as if that wasn't enough), grant trample.

To allow for even more land drops, many other similar effects are in the deck (Exploration, Gaea's Touch, Oracle of Mul Daya).

However, this deck isn't for the casual gamer: it will truly test the tactical mind. Timing is essential. There are so many things that can be done in a given turn. The question isn't figuring out what to do, but in what order to do it.
