I like what you got here. The only things I can suggest are the following.

1) run four copies of Lightning Bolt. It acts like removal and gives you the ability to hit your opponent’s life total directly. I personally feel Kazuul's Fury  Flip, Mutagenic Growth, Kazandu Mammoth  Flip and Wayward Guide-Beast aren’t needed unless you run three or more copies of each.

2) cards like Ancestral Anger, Audacity, Charge Through and Crash Through allow you to get past walls of creatures with trample and also draw you a card, which can make your deck more consistent.

I think the ideal list for you would be this.

4 Akoum Hellhound, 4 Brushfire Elemental, 3 Lotus Cobra, 3 Atarka’s Command, 4 Lightning Bolt, 3 Temur Battle Rage, 4 Crash Through, 4 Enter the Unknown, 4 Explore, 4 Skyclave Pick-Axe, 23 lands

1 Svogthos, the Restless Tomb

That's a good base. Take what works and replace what you don't like.

Exp. I've been playing iterations of this for years now and eight one drops are important. You need to start filling your gy ASAP. These are the two best. If you don't want to go into blue, there are cards like Gnawing Vermin but for me, m2 isn't enough. The -1/-1 is helpful so there is some leeway based on META. If I dabble in other colors, Shriekhorn is my go-to.

Satyr's spot can be removed but I play a low land count due to the two modal lands (Glasspool/Mammoth). Mire Triton is another favorite because Deathtouch and gainlfie. It's also a META call. I don't like others like Skull Prophet. If I were playing The Mycotyrant I'd consider it because it 'mills over time' (MOT) but once your opp sees what youre on theyd kill it before you get a chance to use it.

So, in this list I'm 12 goyfs. Eight can self-mill (SM) and the other is useful (Souls) in getting Wonder out of your hand. You can also sac Stitcher to it if you're a T1 Stitcher T2 Souls. Every card in this deck is a permanent besides Unearth so if you fetched at all, you could have a T2 6/6-8/8 Souls of the Lost and that aint to shabby.

I have always played at least 1-2 Nighthowler. It makes those Stitchers, Crabs, and Satyrs a threat and more often than not, takes two spells to kill it (when it's bestowed).

I view this deck as a sort of aggro deck and keeping with 99% creature theme, Grist and Brazen Borrower are my interaction. You can bring in whatever you want (obviously) but it's also provides fliers for Nighthowler, Grist has a built in win-con and protects itself. I always play a Boseiju, Who Endures and if I play more, -1 Unearth for Life from the Loam and if I'm really frisky, I'll add a few more legends, play more of the Channel Lands and another Life/Loam. I've got a oops all Channel lands were all the other lands are Modal and I play Amulet of Vigor with Shriekhorn and use Emry, Lurker of the Loch as a self-mill recur piece. It's fun.

Sidisi is a MOT that can help you go wide. Every time you mill, you get a zombie. I use this in near every build when I'm in color. I've tested Blossoming Tortoise but save that for a Mosswort Bridge version I play and if I can't get that going I want to be able to cast the top end. Shigeki, Jukai Visionary, Molderhulk, Aether Vial + Dryad Arbor help get me there. But just playing the new Squirming Emergence is so much easier than playing all those other cards.

You can find a way to bring in draw, life, other interaction, etc.. it's on you. There are times were I play Jace, the Perfected Mind or Visions of Beyond for draw. Spellstutter Sprite and a few spots for other faeries like Likeness Looter (flying faerie goyfs!).

But that's the base. Do what you want.. because you can literally do anything. I've got a junk list focused on recur with Unearth, Renegade Rallier, Necropanther, Athreos, God of Passage... a jund/grixis list that uses Ob Nixilis, the Adversary and Orcish Bowmasters (sac goyf to etb Ob Nix, Token Ob forces opp to draw 7 for -7 life. Bowmasters deals another 6 plus you get a 6/6 orc token (+2 more for paper Ob +1 if they can't discard). That's a 15 point swing, not including attacks. Another Grixis list that plays Kroxa, Flamewake Phoenix, Seasoned Pyromancer and Ox.

My favorite - game 1, I'm a mill deck that sideboard converts into self-mill game 2. It still deals with the gy but game 1 youre spell heavy and game 2 youre creature heavy.

Anyway, have fun.

lhetrick13 you make a good point. Scythe Leopard and Kazandu Mammoth  Flip struck a cord with me for the same reason, but that ended up with me building in Vintage (I'll tag the slug below) so I could include Fastbond and Manabond. I also really like how Dryad Arbor functions for a build like this.

Penetrating Truth

Instant

Name a nonland card. Each opponent reveals their hand, then each player that revealed the named card from their hand mills half their library, rounded down.

"A word of truth is all that's needed to disarm an unworthy aggressor." - Atemsis

Since we have modal dual-faced cards (like Kazandu Mammoth  Flip and Kazandu Valley  Flip) that have land on one side, creature on the other, let's now make dual-faced creatures on both sides that do not transform or somehow become one another in any way. Instead, your choice is to play one creature side or play the other creature side. However, the creatures still need to have some lore association with one another (as you would reasonably find a Kazandu Mammoth within the valley of Kazandu...), and the card needs to be balanced, since drawing it basically gives you twice the options as you would have if you drew a card with a single face. How would you balance it? I'm interested in that. Let's see it!

Looks good to me - I'd run a single Akroma, Angel of Fury for old times sake, but thats mostly preference. I've more often seen flicker be combo lists rather than value (Ghostly flicker + cost reduction + spell recovery, in pauper), but the fliplands give a solid beatstick - decks where a main component is lands have a leg up in reliability.

Definitely a cool idea - the lists I threw together like this often come back around as something competitive in a couple of years once a missing piece is printed.

If you need a cute combat trick, Kazandu Mammoth  Flip could make use of flickering your own lands, but its also vulnerable to bolt, so ymmv.

Hey there, nice list so far. If you want to play a landfall deck I would suggest running more than 22 lands. Also you want to make the most out of your landbase, so I recommend running lands like Evolving Wilds, Fabled Passage and maybe Gruul Turf. Regarding creatures some of the best choices when playing landfall are Kazandu Mammoth  Flip or Lotus Cobra. Cheers!

Came across Agadeem's Awakening  Flip which would almost work as a clunky recursion combo assembler if flooded, so I definitely think that is worth considering. Field of Ruin like I mentioned earlier, is solid land hate that replaces itself with a colored manasource. Kazandu Mammoth  Flip / Blackbloom Rogue  Flip / Tangled Florahedron  Flip would be a 'land' that could be found with Collected Company, just be careful of how many tapped lands are included if you decide to include any of those.

Mistveil Plains could help with the mill matchup, and it works to give you a Chord of Calling target if needed, plus it is findable with fetches. Oran-Rief, the Vastwood lets you get a lot out of Kitchen Finks, so it may be worth an inclusion. It would also help if you transition to an aggro strategy during the match.

I've personally always liked Reflecting Pool as a singleton psuedo-mana fixer and one or two of the filter lands (Wooded Bastion / Fetid Heath / Twilight Mire) in 3+ colored decks to alleviate the burden of all the life loss cards (shocks + fetches).

Castle Garenbrig would work as some slow ramp, probably not worth it, but figured I would mention it. Turntimber Grove / Llanowar Reborn would help to get more out of Devoted Druid and the like, although it probably isn't worth coming in tapped (the Grove would sort of be a combat trick when found with Elvish Reclaimer as well). Turntimber Symbiosis  Flip / Emeria's Call  Flip would be some other clunky options, that I just don't think are worth it.

You should definitely lower your curve. Even with all your ramp cards like Emeria Shepherd and Rampaging Baloths are far to slow. If you want to stay as a more midrange deck some cards I think you should consider are:

Zuran Orb: this combos excellently with Titania, Protector of Argoth and Elvish Reclaimer. It can easily be fetched with Urza's Saga (which is also a great target to fetch off of Harrow). Urza's Saga + Ramunap Excavator is also a really great combo.

Kazandu Mammoth  Flip: this is an excellent beater that can also be played as a land.

Ancient Greenwarden: although this is more casual then the other cards I've suggested so far once it synergises really well with your gameplan so I thought I would suggest it anyways.

I would also suggest running some utility lands that could be fetched with Elvish Reclaimer or Harrow. Some good ones off the top of my head are:

Blast Zone: Having tutorable removal is always excellent and Blast Zone is even better due to its combo with Ramunap Excavator. It might also be good to add Crucible of Worlds as extra copies of Ramunap Excavator that aren't affected by most removal.

Some other cards you should consider are Lair of the Hydra, Ghost Quarter, Steppe Lynx, Skyclave Apparition and Knight of Autumn.
