Mono-red dragon tribal, led by Lathliss, Dragon Queen.

This is a pretty simple deck, which has been helped enormously by the recent releases and quite a lot of new dragons! There are some more optimisations to be made but this is a good first-draft of the deck.

The best opening hand here doesn't actually have any dragons in it - you want some of the rocks and ramp because dragons are EXPENSIVE. Then, once you are a little more established, start pumping out dragons and all their tribal synergy, hopefully generating a ton of dragon tokens with Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and then smash face.

UPDATE: Just a quick update note to say that after early play testing this deck is really fun and works surprisingly well. There is quite a lot of ramp in the deck and a hell of a lot of tribal synergy, combined with all the 5/5 dragon tokens from Lathliss you can get a pretty impressive board state pretty quickly. More testing to come.....

A few dragon swaps based on comment suggestions and new purchases:

  • Freejam Regent out for Spawn of Thraxes in.

  • Furnace Whelp out for Moltensteel Dragon in.
  • Shockmaw Dragon out for Warmonger Hellkite in.
    • I was previously using a "shared cards folder" to enable the use of medium and high cost cards in multiple decks. Having decided to stop using this folder I have had to make some modifications to all of my decks to fit the cards in. I also took this opportunity to make a few minor tweaks to my decks, which are also included in this update.
