shadow63 it depends how competitive you want to make the deck. Thunderbreak Regent is viable, but i’d argue the other cards suggested aren’t worth running.

Skyship Stalker is pretty weak for its mana cost, and is very mana-hungry… there are just better dragons available.

Dragonlord's Servant does help cast dragons, but normally means you’re not running enough interaction to make it to the late game (i.e. a killspell usually buys you as much time as this card would anyway). Also, in a modern game, a dragon deck is aiming to generally cast a single dragon and win through its sheer power alone, and so the servant and Dragon's Hoard often provide very little value. The aim should be to control the board till you can resolve a dragon safely - not trying to rush flooding the board with them (that will often get you killed in the process).

Skyship Stalker and Thunderbreak Regent are good dragons Dragonlord's Servant can help you cast them. You could try Dragon's Hoard

Hey, your Commanders care about two types of creatures, Dragons and Knights. This is the simplest approach to consider is add more Dragons and some Knights? A higher amount of Dragons than Knights seems better with your two Commanders because double strike with Dragons who already fly is more powerful then Knights with flying.

Dragons are high mana cost creatures therefore consider more ramp? More ramp so you can cast Dragons especially Khorvath faster. Sylvia doesn't do much until you have a Dragon on the battlefield which ramp can help with.

You can't play Gruul Locket and Orzhov Locket in a Boros Commander deck. Can only play cards that are red, white or red/white because these are the color identities of your Commanders. Cards with black and green even though they also have red or white aren't legal with Boros.

What's the budget for your deck? Cards $1 or less each to consider adding:

Lands

Mana Rocks/Other Ramp

Dragons/Cards that support Dragons

Dragons who can pump their own power which is called "firebreathing" are good with double strike.

Knights

Draw

  • Mask of Memory: an equipped creature with double strike who isn't blocked does combat damage twice to an opponent meaning you draw four cards.
  • Rogue's Gloves: with flying it's easier to do combat damage.

The nice thing about these equipment is the interaction with double strike. These equipment can also be repeatable draw and if the equipped creature dies, the equipment isn't destroyed, can equip another creature.

Removal

I offer more advice. Good luck with your deck.

Hiya. Sorry for the late response. Glorybringer isn't really a huge advantage over Skyship Stalker other than the targeting portion of him, though the built-in haste can be nice. Up to you in the end, kind of a judgement call based on your play style.

Yeah I've played enough games online where people will kill your Generator Servant , which is unfortunate, but pretty much unavoidable. I believe I'm running 4 Satyr Hedonist and Generator Servant in my deck, which is fun because sometimes my opponent will kill my creature, so I cast the same one next turn lol.

For Dragon Tempest , I'd recommend dropping an Everflowing Chalice , then either dropping a Wild Slash or the second Everflowing Chalice to fit in 2 more Dragon Tempest , so you're running 4. If this were my deck, I'd drop both Wild Slash for 2 more Lightning Bolt . My deck doesn't run any instants or sorceries, so some creative liberty should/can be taken there.

MJS154 I do like constructive critisism yeah and don't worry about being too antagonistic.

being able to keep pumping Skyship Stalker is nice(as long as you have the mana for it and your draw is off), I just can't see how Glorybringer is the bigger profit apart from the targeting mechanic.

Now that you've explained Generator Servant it makes much more sense to run it instead of Everflowing Chalice , my arguement for it was that it'd be harder to target than a creature but the haste gain in case dragons tempest isn't online is a fairly good profit.

How would you intergrate 2 more Dragon Tempest in the deck? I'm interested in trying that.

thanks for the advise so far!

VAR0K, while Dragon Tempest is great in your opening hand, running only 2 of them isn't consistent enough. 4 would be optimal.

The fastest possible scenario you can have a dragon out is Turn 3, which is the same as my deck actually lol. The problem (in my opinion) with this deck is consistency. I can't stress this enough. You dragons are spread out so that you can't be sure what you'll draw. Glorybringer would be awesome here, replacing Skyship Stalker .

I would reduce differently named dragons, consolidating into 3-ofs and 4-ofs. Getting more big mana creatures out would be good too. If you cast Everflowing Chalice for 2 mana, that nets you one mana per turn, uncolored. Running Generator Servant or Satyr Hedonist both give you 2 mana for the same cmc, one of which enables haste. Gen Servant giving haste is a good piece of redundancy here, in case you can't get Dragon Tempest . Skittering Surveyor nets you 1 extra mana for a 3 cmc creature, which again can be replaced with Generator Servant or Satyr Hedonist .

Deflecting Palm is one of those cards that'll screw you no matter what lol! And yeah, Satyr Hedonist is an underrated gem in my opinion.

I hope I don't come off too antagonistic towards you or your deck. This is one of the few deck types that I know anything about, so I love to help!

MJS154, I completely see where you're getting at and faster killing is always nice, however I don't quite agree on the CMC ramping part.

The Dragon Tempest in your starting hand or first draw is a godsent especially if paired with Dragonlord's Servant . For one of my faster dragons I have Skyship Stalker or Thunderbreak Regent .

Mana-Wise I've got Everflowing Chalice (cann be cast for 2 mana aswell) to get me 1 more mana a tad quicker or for 3 mana I've got Skittering Surveyor which lets me grab a mountain and is a nice early game block to creature threats.

It might not be the fastest burner out there but it's one hell of a hitter :)

(p.s. the thing I fear most is Deflecting Palm which my friend runs in his monk-bestow deck) (p.p.s. Satyr Hedonist is exactly what I needed for my gruul deck, thanks!)

PeelzForDead Skyship Stalker is mainly here to keep my curve lower, but I think I'll pitch that and Deathbringer Regent for both of the Hellkites you suggested. Regent's got a really specific clause to trigger its sweeper and it doesn't really mesh with the reanimation package.
