Typically in CEDH, you only want 2-3 win cons in your deck. However, this deck will need to grind it out most of the time until turns 4-5. Thankfully we have a lot of control and can typically respond at instant speed. That being said, we need flexibility in our win cons. We have a total of 3 win cons + 1 more for the typical meta. This works well because of how our deck is structured.

We run lots of creatures like Memnite, Wriggling Grub, Greedy Freebooter, etc. Yawgmoth, Thran Physician turns all of these into insane draw spells. I only want creatures that will give me free draw like Memnite, high value like pay 1 and draw 3 with Wriggling Grub, or even Haunt of the Dead Marshes for repeatable value in desperate situations.

Our deck is built around these creatures, our 8 tutors, and Necropotence with Ad Nauseam as a solid backup.

WIN CONDITIONS

  1. Met Win Con: Praetor's Grasp to get Thassa's Oracle from an opponent / use our rocks to tap for the required UU on Thoracle / Demonic Consultation

  2. Yawgmoth, Thran Physician / Genesis Chamber / Butcher Ghoul or any other creature with Undying. This results in infinite draw and life loss. It's essentially Necropotence but we immediately get the cards. If we add Blood Artist, it is a win through infinite drain. Genesis Chamber can be substituted for Nest of Scarabs or Pawn of Ulamog. It is also important to note that Yawgdaddy and Nest are an instant speed board wipe by themselves.

  3. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed / Walking Ballista. With Mike on board, we can cast Ballista for 0. It will immediately die and come back with a +1/+1 counter from the Undying ability that Mike gives. You can then use Ballista's ability to remove the counter and deal a damage to an opponent, repeat. Here is our tech/package specifically for this combo: Mausoleum Secrets, Entomb, Buried Alive, Victimize, Living Death, Reanimate. These cards can also just be used for value.

  4. Necropotence / Emergence Zone / Yawgmoth's Will. This is similar to the current Necropotence / Borne Upon a Wind / Underworld Breach line in RogSi and other Grixis decks. The big difference is that Yawg Will exiles everything that hits the graveyard after it is cast. With Necro in play and having dumped 30-35 life into necro, we will move to our end step. At end step, we will discard all but 7 cards in hand. Then a trigger from necro will hit the stack to exile all of the cards discarded this turn. We then respond to that trigger by sacrificing Emergence Zone so that we can cast spells at flash speed. We cast Yawg Will so that we can now cast spells at flash speed from our hand and graveyard. We should have some 0 mana artifact and rituals to cast. At this point, we will ideally have enough mana to cast/tutor one of the infinite combos we have drawn with necro.

Cabal Coffers has been cut. It simply cannot activate for value in CEDH.
