LOOKING FOR COMMENTS....I made this years ago and threw it together on a whim. Looking for good suggestions to make it a playable Halloween themed reanimator. So, looking for suggestions to make this deck better and even more halloweeny.
Good Evening Ghosts and Ghouls. It is I, Your host with the ghost-host-Count Vas-Cula. I velcome you all on this, a most dreary and dreadful night to bring to you a magic the gathering decklist for a Elder Dragon Highlader Halloween TREAT! BLAH BLAH BALH!!! OOOooooOOoooo... This spooky deck is sure to be quite the Treat for your October evening nights and more! I velcome you all, but BEWARE!, my friend, enter at your own risk and watch out! This deck might seem benign and cuddly like the dark vampire bats in the night, but if you get too close, and if you Von't watch out, it will be too late and you vill be taking a deep cold sleep in the graveyard like the Many creatures you find within! Now come in and take a seat and get ready for a SPOOOKY FRIEGHT! WUAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!!
Oh, and one last thing. If You can think of anything more to make Vis deck even spookier! Do not be afraid to make a suggestion!
Maskwood Nexus Helps make up for the lack of scarecrows. Vampiric Tutor helps bring out maskwood nexus.
Deck also contains the cat oven.

Halloween Creatures: The following are the Halloween creatures, aka the FLAVOR of the deck. Headless Horseman Walking Dead Darkness tibalt,rakish instigator - Cuz he's a devil Spirit of the Night Coffin Queen Will-o'-the-Wisp
Non creature halloween goodness: All Hallow's Eve Grimoire of the Dead
There is Also Gravecrawler and Phyrexian Altar Which combos well with ve Arcane Adaptation and then you have Sorcerer's Broom and have out a Mana Echoes at the same time. Just get your third broom into play and ze fun can BEGIN! There are Lots of sacrificing combinations with the gravecrawler and altar and splinter twin that you will create a ghoulish good time with a lot of them. There could be combinations even I am not aware of, maybe you can discover a good one to give your opponents a scream of a halloween game night! WUAHAHAHAHAA!
Not to mention, if you have your commander out, his ability is that when a scarecrow enters the battlefield you can destroy any one thing of HIS! So, use arcane adaption to turn ALL of your ghouls into zombie or werewolf or spiritSCARECROWS to synergize with him! Then If you have mana echoes out, and you declared scarecrow, you can REALLY have a fright!
Splinter Twin + Intruder Alarm is also good. Make A crow storm with Storm Crow or have it on basically anything really.

Tree of Perdition + Triskaidekaphobia is a really good time. Plus we have a scary looking tree in the deck and scary barren tree's are what Halloween and the end of autumn is all about. Cauldron Familiar + Witch's Oven

Haunted Crossroads is a card I find to be terribly useful in a lot of decks, and I think it still offers great flavor for your deck.
Also, I know this is a banned card, but perhaps your playgroup would let you get away with running Recurring Nightmare ? ....For flavor reasons, of course...

Love the deck! Have you ever thought about running Dance of the Dead , Necromancy , or even Wake the Dead ?
Those are some flavorful cards that fit the theme as well as Corpse Dance or Shallow Grave !
Some more flavor that could be added are Oversold Cemetery or Living Death

A lot of changes being made. Now that a lot more dark scary cards were released there is a bit more to work with. I still want it to have an obvious halloween flavor but now I have more powerful cards for the deck.

This looks awesome, great job on the flavour side.
Considering the importance of Maskwood Nexus, how about adding Beacon of Unrest as a way to recurr it.
Bolas's Citadel definitely looks like the citadel from the end of Ghostbusters. Halloween-y enough?
Toxrill, the Corrosive would be a powerful and creepy addition, while being kinda ridiculous with your commander and Nexus.

I have been meaning to overhaul this deck after so long. I first made it 3 years ago and I deconstructed it a long time ago. Maybe I will take another crack and rebuild it better than ever. I still want the "Monster Squad" movie represented and reaper king gives me accecss to blue and all other colors. If this was just black then a lot of this deck like Festival would have to be taken out.

ZendikariWol - The reason for reaper king is to make use of the scarecrows and his destruction ability. It's only really heavy black because that is where the most halloweeniest cards are at. I think I can squeeze in some of your cards though.

OMG! OK Guys! New Combo. Sorcerer's Broom IF I have Phyrexian Altar on the field with a Gravecrawler ...OMG OMG OMG! This deck, in addition to being halloween flavored..I think if I can keep improving it. I can get this deck Competitive level AND have it halloween flavored at the same time! OMGOSH! I mean, sure, I have to keep paying the 3 mana, but still. GREAT trick.

I made a few adjustments to the deck. According to this website my deck is 93% competitive. YAY! I swapped out a few black stuff for some extra colors. We now have a WEREWOLF! In the form of arlinn the planeswalker! So that now covers the missing werewolf that we did not have before. I also got Gravecrawler finally today and some other cards. I am highly thinking of Mana Echoes to synergize with the Sorcerer's Broom so that when I start using my Gravecrawler and phyrexian altar combo I can have a Fantasia army of brooms. Actually. I am going to do that.

Update: I cut down on lands a little bit, and got rid of Witch's Familiar since there is a lot of "witch" themed cards coming in the new set. I added changelings based on their names and their general "creepiness". Such as the venomous changeling being a scorpion which is kind of like Halloween since it is a scary bug. The deck now has more changelings with the scarecrow typing to make it synergize with the commander a bit more.Also, gravecrawler is in to go with the phyrexian altar which I realized was not in here.

I also updating the deck description to mention more combos. If anyone can think of what to get rid of for the mikaeus triskelion combo, please lemme know. I just know that is what this deck needs and don't want to sacrifice too much halloweeniness of it. So stuff like headless horseman stays lol.

I feel like this absolutely needs Identity Thief and a Delirium package. However, I think that this is more just a flavor thing, so I’ll say the above, Dark Impostor , Dimir Doppelganger , Arcane Adaptation , and the classic Bogbrew Witch , Festering Newt , and Bubbling Cauldron package. Laboratory Maniac is super flavorful as well.
But since you look to be going with some heavy black synergies... have you considered The Haunt of Hightower as a commander? It’s definitely, imo, the coolest Halloween-themed commander, being both super cool and very spooky. Still, I understand if you have an attachment to the Reaper King after so long.

Bog Witch and Bubbling Muck add some flavor while being useful, as well.
I notice you've got quite a few effects that put things into the graveyard, and you're running some reanimator. Some on-theme tutors for this that might fit what you want to do are Final Parting and Jarad's Orders . Get a card in hand, and one in the graveyard, to suit your needs.

added a tree a mummy, and another win condition in the form of that phobia card. Lazav, Dimir Mastermind is also going in for the "trick-or-treater" who is dressed up for Halloween. Plus with all the kill spells I think it could work well.
