Have you considered Siona, Captain of the Pyleas? If you replace it with Commune With Spirits you can look seven cards deep into your library and create chump blockers. If you choose to go this route, you may want to consider replacing Paradise Druid with any combination of Karametra's Favor and Nature's Embrace. If you go for the latter you'll definitely want to consider Stirring Wildwood.

Considering Light-Paws is a Legendary Creature who helps tutor auras you can get away with removing one.

As for your sideboard, you're probably going to want to go more auras that can stymie your opponent. These can range from taxing effects(such as Curse of Silence, Detention Vortex, Oppressive Rays and Soul Tithe) to activated ability prevention(such as Bound in Gold, Intercessor's Arrest and Overwhelming Splendor) to Protection(such as Guildscorn Ward and Holy Mantle.

Thank you for reading me out. I hope this helps. Happy Hunting!

Polaris on Puresight Merrow and Karametra's Favor

Yes. What you're describing is known as "holding priority" and will work as long as all the spells and abilities you plan to cast/activate can be used at instant speed. It works because the mana ability Karametra's Favor gives comes from a static effect, which means your merfolk has the mana ability as soon as the Aura enters the battlefield.

You can hold priority when the trigger goes on the stack, activate the mana ability (which doesn't use the stack because it's mana speed), activate the untap ability, pass priority and let it resolve, then hold priority and do it again as many times as you like.

If I have Puresight Merrow on the Battlefield (Without Summoning Sickness), and I cast the enchantment Karametra's Favor onto it. Can I Leave the enchantment's 'Draw a card' ability on the stack while I loop tapping Puresight Merrow for blue mana, then untapping and and paying blue to exile a card, allowing me to exile as much as needed before letting the card draw ability resolve?

I would suggest using Cryptolith Rite in place of Karametra's Favor - Second Harvest is a cool card as well.

  • I'd replace Karametra's Favor with Cryptolith Rite . Sure, you won't be able to draw a card, but you'll get a lot more use out of it.

  • A land suggestion would be Grove of the Guardian . Late game, it gets you an 8/8.

  • I'd replace Harmonize with Idol of Oblivion . It's kind of a risk-reward thing, but if it lasts till late game you can get a 10/10

  • While Beast Attack is nice due it being an instant, Trumpeting Herd is a lot better. Beast Attack gives you 8 power and toughness for 10 mana, while Trumpeting Herd gives you 6 power and toughness for 4 mana.

  • If you'd like, Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants is a great Token generator, but it takes 4-5 turns to get the emblem, depending on if you want to keep him or not. His +1 is nice, and his -2 can be alright.
